Ice Cream Social Parking Update
We heard your parking concerns — and we have a new plan!
Since our schools consolidated, parking has been a challenge. We heard the feedback, and over the past several weeks, PTA Leaders and the Event Chair have been working closely with our Principals and District staff to create a better parking plan for PTA events.
For the Ice Cream Social, Principals and District employees have reviewed plans, made measurements of the field and blacktop and developed a parking plan that allows us to safely make the most of our campus.
🚗 MORE PLACES TO PARK
For this event, parking will be available in designated areas throughout campus, including:
- Basketball courts
- Designated areas of the grass field
- Front parking lot
- Lower parking lot
- Designated areas of the lower blacktop
- Outer lane of the bus lane
- Both sides of Turqueza, where permitted
Please refer to the parking map for specific parking locations and traffic flow.
🟡 LOOK FOR THE YELLOW JACKETS!
We will have Yellow-jacketed parking staff stationed throughout the parking areas to help direct traffic and assist families with parking.
Please follow their directions as you enter, park and exit campus. They are there to help make the process as smooth and safe as possible!
You’ll also see temporary striping, cones and tape to clearly mark parking areas and help everyone navigate the campus.
🛑 SAFETY FIRST
Temporary fencing will be placed around the event area to create a safe separation between vehicles and the kids enjoying the Ice Cream Social.
Please:
- Drive slowly and cautiously on campus.
- Watch carefully for pedestrians.
- Park only in designated areas.
- Keep driveways and access routes clear.
🚲 WALK • CARPOOL • RIDE!
If you’re able, we strongly encourage families to walk, carpool or rideshare to help reduce traffic and the number of vehicles on campus.
Riding a bike or e-bike is another great option! A designated bike/e-bike parking area will be available near the Kindergarten gate and in the lower parking lot.
🚫 Please note: There will be NO parking on Vista Hermosa.

The Ice Cream Social is meant to be an easy family fun community event — grab an ice cream, let the kids play on the Big Toy and field, and enjoy some time connecting with other Lobo families.
We are so grateful to our principals and District staff for listening to our concerns and working with us to find a better solution for our school community.

Come kick off the school year with a sweet night of ice cream, family fun, and community!
Bring the whole family and let the kids play while parents get a chance to connect, meet other Lobo families, and hang out. It’s a relaxed way to get to know the people who make our school community so special.
While you’re there, stop by the PTA table to learn more about how you can get involved and hear about the amazing events, programs, and activities we’re planning for students, staff, and families this year.
Everyone loves free ice cream! Everyone is welcome!
We could use a few helping hands for this event. Volunteer opportunities include serving ice cream and toppings (45 min shifts), setting up and cleaning up afterwards. We'd also love a few people to take pictures of the event. If you're feeling creative - we'd LOVE a photo booth. See the link below to sign up.

Come join us for our first PTA meeting of the school year! Whether you’re already involved, brand new to PTA, or simply curious about what’s happening at Lobo this year, everyone is welcome. Head to the MPR after drop off for a social time before we start the meeting officially at 8:00am.

We’ll also make time to hear your ideas — what should PTA keep doing, start doing, and what would make you want to be more involved?
Club leaders will be available before the meeting during our social time, so come early to meet them, learn about their clubs and connect with other families.
We’ll take care of a few necessary PTA business items during the meeting, but we’ll keep that portion short and focused so we can spend more time doing what matters most:

PTA Advocacy: Your Voice Matters!
One of the most powerful parts of being a PTA member is advocacy. PTA gives parents, families, educators, and community members a collective voice to speak up for the things that matter most to our children and schools.
We’re lucky to have Candace Boren serving as Lobo PTA’s Advocacy Representative this year! Candace will share advocacy updates at our PTA meetings and help keep our Lobo community informed about the issues PTA is working on at the local, state, and national levels.
Curious about what PTA is advocating for or want to learn how you can get involved? There’s an upcoming Advocacy Forum that’s a great opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and connect with other PTA members. Lobo will have two representatives attending, so you’ll have some familiar faces there and won’t be going it alone!

A HUGE thank you to the District for providing our Dolphins with their first Lobo shirts and helping kick off this brand-new chapter with some serious school spirit! Now it’s time to add a little color to the Ohana — and get ready for those cooler fall days ahead.
Spirit wear is about more than just looking cute. When our students, parents, teachers, and families wear Lobo gear, it creates a sense of belonging, pride, and connection. It reminds our kids that they’re part of something bigger — one school, one community, one pod.

Our Lobo volunteers are an incredibly important part of our school community! Whether you can give an hour here and there or want to be a regular volunteer, there are so many ways to get involved—in the classroom, with PTA, on field trips, in the library, and so much more. Every helping hand makes a difference!
Before volunteering on campus, all parents and volunteers must be cleared as either a Tier I or Tier II volunteer. Once you’re cleared, you’re ready to jump in and volunteer!
When you arrive to volunteer, please remember to:
- Sign in at the front office
- Pick up your yellow Volunteer badge
- Wear your badge while volunteering
- Sign out when you’re finished
Need help or have questions? Tracy and Chantile will be happy to help with check-in, tracking, or getting you pointed in the right direction.

Capture Your Family + Support Lobo PTA!
It’s time to update those family photos and you can help support Lobo Elementary PTA while you’re at it!
There are several locations and dates available through Fund Photos, but we’ve secured a special Lobo date on Sunday, October 18 at the San Clemente Pier! It’s the perfect chance to get beautiful beach photos while giving back to our school.
For every session booked, Fund Photos donates 100% of the session fee, $50, directly to Lobo PTA!
Each session includes:
- 15 minutes of photography for your immediate family or up to 6 people
- 2 high-res digital images to download
- Gallery of 30-40 edited, color-corrected, cropped, and straightened images to choose from
