What a sweet treat mid-week! Our Ice Cream Social was such a wonderful example of what happens when our Lobo community comes together. A huge thank you to our event chair Jill Day, volunteers, our Principals, and the CUSD team who helped make the evening safe, welcoming, and fun for our families.
And one of the highlights was the parking! Opening the field as an overflow parking lot made a huge difference. Parking was plentiful, and thanks to the District’s thoughtful planning and quick response, families were able to get in and out smoothly for the event. We are so grateful for everyone who helped make the evening run so well!
Now PTA is already looking ahead to our next big community event—Fall Festival & Trunk-or-Treat! Want to be part of the creative team? We’re kicking off planning this week, with our first planning meeting on Tuesday, September 22 at 5:30 p.m. in the Outdoor Classroom. Whether you’d like to help lead, decorate a trunk, lend a hand for an hour, or simply share an idea, we’d love to have you join us!
This week we also launched our PTA Membership Drive, and we’d love for every family to join our Lobo PTA Pod! Membership forms were sent home with students, and extra copies are available below and in the front office. You don’t have to volunteer or attend meetings to be a member—membership is simply a way to support the students and programs that make Lobo special.
We’re also excited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with four special lunchtime experiences for our students, featuring music, food, dance, and art. PTA is proud to support programs that enrich our students’ experiences and bring new opportunities, ideas, and celebrations to campus.
There is so much happening at Lobo, and we’re just getting started. Thank you for being part of it!

A Huge Thank You to Our Ice Cream Social Volunteers!
What a sweet night! We are so grateful to every volunteer who helped set up, serve ice cream and toppings, keep things moving, and most importantly, bring so much joy and energy to our Ice Cream Social.
A special shout-out to Dr. Stewart, Assistant Superintendent, who was right there in the serving line, jumping in wherever he was needed and helping make the evening run smoothly. We are also incredibly thankful to our Principals, Mrs. Goodwyn and Mrs. Brown, for their partnership and support, and to our amazing Event Chair, Jill Day, for taking the lead and making it all happen.
Events like this truly take a team, and we couldn't do it without leaders and volunteers willing to jump in!

A Huge Thank You to CUSD!
Lobo PTA is incredibly grateful to Capistrano Unified School District and the many district employees who spent their week preparing our overflow parking area for the Ice Cream Social. From relocating equipment and painting lines to setting up temporary fencing and making sure every detail was covered, their quick response and teamwork helped ensure our families could park safely and enjoy the event. The rapid response was noticed, appreciated, and made a tremendous difference! We are so thankful for our district partners and the way they stepped up to support our Lobo community.

Fall Festival & Trunk-or-Treat Planning Meeting
Tuesday, September 22 • 5:30 PM

Chassidy Ritter will be leading this year’s Fall Festival & Trunk-or-Treat, and we’re looking for parents who want to help bring this family favorite to life!
This is our first planning meeting and a chance to dream together about what this event could look like this year. We’ll be gathering ideas for decorating, activities, Trunk-or-Treat, haunted hallway concepts, and more.
With a new school of more than 500 students, we have an opportunity to create a new Lobo tradition that can quickly become a family favorite.
If you’re one of our creative types, idea people, planners, builders, decorators, or just someone who loves a great Fall themed event, we’d love to have you there!

Celebrating Culture at Lobo!
This Hispanic Heritage Month, Lobo PTA is creating fun opportunities for our students to experience, explore, and celebrate culture right on campus! Throughout four weeks, PTA is hosting and funding special lunchtime activities featuring music, food, dance, and art.
We’re excited to bring these enriching experiences to our students and help make school a place where every child can learn something new, feel represented, and celebrate the cultures that make our Lobo community so special.

This month’s update highlights important issues affecting California students, families, and public schools, along with ways our Lobo community can stay informed and engaged. We encourage you to take a few minutes to read the report, learn more about what’s happening beyond our school, and stay connected to the issues that matter to our students and families.
The September CUCPTSA Advocacy Update covers several timely topics, including online safety for children, climate literacy, constitutional rights, and the upcoming November 2026 statewide ballot measures. It also includes updates from CUSD Superintendent Dr. Chris Brown on school funding, enrollment, school capacity, screen time, and district finances, plus information on how families can stay informed and participate in local advocacy.
