Weekly Update:

Dear Cornerstone Family,

They say all good things must come to an end. This month we will be saying goodbye to the Geigers and the Conelys. Here are a few details we want to share with you.

We will have a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, May 16, at 10:10 a.m. in the Worship Center. As you already know, Pete and his family will be returning to Orlando to accept a new call, and just as we extended a call to Pete when he was ordained, we also must bring his call with us to an end at the Congregational Meeting. Those attending the second service will want to arrive early to participate in the meeting.

Then on Sunday, May 23, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., we will have an outdoor reception (indoors if the weather does not cooperate) for both families. Please join us as we gather to celebrate their ministry with us.

The Lord has blessed the time we have had together, and goodbyes are always difficult, but we can reflect joyfully on the season of ministry we have had with Pete and Josiah and their families. Just as they became part of us, we became part of them, and we will miss them greatly, but we know that God has a new adventure waiting for them. We want to express our thanks for their faithfulness and leadership as well as their heart. They were committed to serving you and always desired to draw you closer to Christ. They worked diligently to make Cornerstone a better place and helped expand our vision for our community and city.

It is our prayer that the Lord will guide them and strengthen them and powerfully use each family in their next call, both in Charlotte and Orlando. Save the dates so you can participate with us.

For God and His Kingdom,
Sheldon MacGillivray
Lead Pastor, Cornerstone
This Weekend in Worship
This weekend in worship, we'll continue our series on the life of King David with a message on 1 Samuel 18:1-5, "You've Got a Friend in Me." This passage reveals one of the greatest friendships recorded in Scripture: the bond between David and King Saul's son, Jonathan.

Our services will include celebration of the Lord's Supper. If you are worshiping online, plan to have the elements ready. Also, we will be collecting our Deacons' Fund offering on Sunday as an outflow of our worship. This fund is designated to assist people in our congregation and community who are struggling financially. You can place your offering in one of the boxes in the Worship Center or give securely online (select "Deacons Benevolence" in dropdown menu).

We look forward to seeing you at Cornerstone at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. online!

Some of you may have seen the Missions Bin overflowing with diaper donations last weekend! Over the month of April, you donated 4,418 diapers and Pull-Ups for Advice & Aid Pregnancy Center! These diapers will directly assist families facing unplanned pregnancies. Thank you for loving others so generously!
