Get Out and Vote:  Primary Day is August 9
Absentee voting is open for individuals who wish to cast their ballot as part of the statewide primary election on Tuesday, August 9.  Voters no longer need a reason to vote early by absentee ballot. Absentee voting can be completed by mail or in person.
To absentee vote by mail, voters must first complete an absentee ballot application available at www.mnvotes.org. If the person applying for an absentee ballot is not registered to vote, a voter registration application is included with the absentee ballot. The completed voter registration application and ballot should be returned together. Voter registration can also be completed online.

To absentee vote in person, voters can visit their municipal offices or one of the Dakota County government centers in Apple Valley, Hastings and West St. Paul, during regular business hours.

Of course, individuals can also vote in person on primary Election Day, Tuesday, August 9, at their regular precinct polling place. To determine the polling location, go to www.mnvotes.org.
Let's Knock it Out of the Park!

Member Spotlight: Grateful for Peer Network
Ann Bailey, DARTS
I am the President of DARTS, a nonprofit agency serving older adults and their families in and around Dakota County. Our services help people live independently, assist those caring for older adults and volunteer opportunities for people of all ages. I began participating in Chamber events about a year ago and found an instant community with Chamber members. The Coffee Breaks, lunches and Why Not Wednesdays are great ways to hear what's happening and have resulted in new DARTS partners, volunteers and supporters. I use the Weekly Update information to stay current with legislative and economic news and value the personal connections to leaders. I am so grateful for this peer network where I can exchange ideas, seek help and become more embedded in the community.
