Dear Friends,

It is my greatest honor to represent you in Congress. As always, my mission is to advocate for Upstate New York and the North Country’s priorities at the highest levels of government. Here is a look at my past week working for you in Congress.

My Work This Week for Upstate New York and the North Country

Restoring Amtrak’s Adirondack Line

Just one day after my call with the President of Amtrak and following my continued advocacy, Amtrak will finally resume service for the Adirondack Line by April 3.

When Amtrak initially left the North Country out of their reopening plans, I worked tirelessly to deliver this result for our North Country families, small businesses, and communities.

Introducing Bipartisan Legislation to Provide Credit Monitoring for all Servicemembers

The impact of invasive species are detrimental to ecosystems in Upstate New York and the North Country, which are home to some of the largest and most diverse ecosystems in our state.

To stamp out invasives, I have proposed a bipartisan bill that would ensure net proceeds from the sale of a semipostal stamp would raise awareness about the threat invasive species pose to our natural ecosystems and fund research that will help combat these predators. Today, I called on Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to direct the United States Postal Service to issue this stamp to help combat invasive species.

Supporting Legislation to Lower Prescription Drug Costs

I’m working to drive down prescription drug prices on behalf of the health of our seniors who rely on pharmacies for their medications. The Drug Price Transparency in Medicaid Act, which I cosponsored, will ensure drug prices are not needlessly being driven up by banning the use of spread pricing in Medicaid-managed care, which would save taxpayers billions. I am proud to support this effort to empower our pharmacies who are critical to accessing medications and to protect access to care for our seniors.
