Dear Friends,

It is my greatest honor to represent you in Congress. As always, my mission is to advocate for Upstate New York and the North Country’s priorities at the highest levels of government. Here is a look at my past week working for you in Congress.

My Work This Week for Upstate New York and the North Country

The Babies Need Formula Now Act

As a mother in Congress, I know firsthand the importance of providing our children essential nutrition. After my calls to action fell on the deaf ears of Biden’s Food and Drug Administration, my greatest fears were realized as I heard heartbreaking stories from parents and grandparents in my district unable to find what they needed to feed their babies. In response, House Republicans have come up with a legislative solution that will restore supply-chain operations, restock shelves, and provide the necessary oversight and accountability to ensure this never happens again.

The Babies Need Formula Now Act will put product back on shelves and provide oversight over the FDA to ensure the Biden administration is doing its job, acting quickly to maintain a healthy and safe supply of formula, and not wasting resources.

I joined Sandra Smith on Fox News’ America Reports this week to discuss my legislative solution to this baby formula crisis.

Introducing Solution to Skyrocketing Farm Input Costs

As farmers in Upstate New York and the North Country face skyrocketing inflation and energy costs, Joe Biden’s burdensome regulatory agenda continues to hurt farmers and families. Our hardworking producers deserve better, which is why I am proud to join my Republican colleagues to introduce solutions to reverse Biden’s harmful regulatory burdens and reduce farm input costs.

The Reducing Farm Input Costs and Barriers to Domestic Production Act (H.R. 8069) requires the Biden administration to reverse its regulatory barriers to domestic agriculture production and provide immediate relief to families across the country.

At a time when every family is forced to pay more for gas and groceries, this is a critical start to bring down the skyrocketing costs of goods.

Oversight on New York’s Implementation of CRT with Federal Funds

I am continuing to lead the charge for oversight into New York State’s misuse of COVID funds to implement CRT in classrooms. I am bringing the concerns of New York’s parents and accountability for our hardworking taxpayers to the highest levels, and I am proud to have the top Republican on the committee of jurisdiction, Dr. Foxx, join me in this push for transparency. As NYSED avoids my push for oversight because they fear the backlash from parents, I will continue to lead the charge on behalf of families.

This Week in Washington

Advancing Legislation to Address the Supply Chain Crisis

I am proud to advance legislation to address this supply chain crisis and support producers, especially dairy farmers, in Upstate New York and the North Country.

The Ocean Shipping Reform Act, which I cosponsored, will help lessen the United States’ trade imbalance with China by reducing challenges at ports to ease significant supply chain disruptions and help American producers export their products.

As Joe Biden’s failed policies create crisis after crisis for Americans, I will continue to push for solutions to address these challenges and create a more efficient supply chain.

Cosponsoring Educational Choice for Children Act

Educational choice is a critical way to provide the best opportunities for our students, and I am proud to help introduce the Educational Choice for Children Act to allow families to determine the highest quality and most suitable education for their children.

This legislation can equip students in rural communities with additional supports to supplement their learning in the local school, bringing new opportunities to families that have traditionally lacked educational options. I will continue to empower parents to be able to choose what is best for their children’s education, regardless of zip code.
