Minimum Wage Bumps Up
Minnesota's minimum wage workers will receive a $.15 per hour bump on January 1, 2018.  The Department of Labor and Industry decided that is the size of the state's first automatic minimum wage increase and it will bring the current $9.50 per hour wage to $9.65.  Smaller companies will have a $7.87 minimum.  The higher wage is a result of a 2014 law that puts the minimum wage on an automatic inflator, of which your Chamber continues to oppose.  Government should not be in the business of mandating wage and benefit laws for private companies.

Member Spotlight: Active Involvement
Allen Glynn, KLC Financial
As a small business owner with KLC Financial, I have been in the equipment leasing and financing business since 2006. I have over 10 years of experience helping small business owners, like myself, finance assets ranging from manufacturing equipment to IT software and everything in between.  I received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - Superior and have a MBA from St. Mary's University. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young daughters.

As a young professional, joining the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2009 helped me make connections with customers and referral sources. I made it a point to be very involved by attending events and volunteering on the board of directors and for other leadership positions. As a business development professional in equipment financing, I am always looking for the next opportunity to work with a new business. The relationships I made in the chamber have helped my business grow.
