Member Benefits: Job Postings, Press Releases and Hot Deals

best_deal_sign.jpg One of the benefits of being a member of Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce is the ability to submit your job openings, hot deals, and news and press releases straight to the website. Here are a few things to know:
  • Job opportunities that are posted to the website are searchable by anyone, not just members. They also automatically post to your Chamber's Twitter feed! Check out the current list of job openings here.
  • Make sure to post your press releases about achievements, recent hirings, future plans, or any other exciting company news that you would like to share. Your news releases will automatically post to the Chamber Twitter feed as well as the website!
  • Hot deals that are posted are also searchable by anyone. See the list of current hot deals.
  • You can take advantage of these member benefits by first logging into the DCR Chamber website. Once logged in you will see buttons for all three options on the left hand side. Click the one you want and go from there!
  • Questions? Contact Emily Corson, 651.288.9202.

The Small Business Administration SBIR Road Tour is Coming to the Midwest
business_technologies.jpg If your company is seeking a competitive advantage in the marketplace with innovative products and/or services, or seeking access to new technology with small businesses, or licensing technology from the University of Minnesota or Mayo Clinic, or the federal government, then this event is a good starting point.

The Small Business Administration Small Business Innovation Research Road Tour is coming to the Midwest and their first stop is Minneapolis on July 17th from 7:30 am - 5 pm. This road tour is a national outreach effort to convey the non-dilutive technology funding opportunity provided through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. Federal and State Program Managers representing $2.5 billion in early stage funding have been invited to present at a series of events to technology entrepreneurs and innovation supporters from across the United States. Click here for more information and to register.
Could You Use an Intern?
Does your organization seek an intern in Accounting, Business, Information Technology, Education, Human services or Paralegal roles? Inver Hills Community College, in partnership with the Great Lakes Corporation and Affiliates, is able to provide subsidized internships for Inver Hills students during Fall 2017 or Spring 2018. Students would be paid $13/hr. - $17/hr. based on the internship role. Internships are a great way to try out a future employee, create brand awareness with community college students and gain new insights from a fresh pair of eyes. Interns can support work related to the above areas, work on projects, gain exposure to your industry, and share your organization with others.
Once you have identified an internship need, to get started you would simply need to provide a position description of your internship by July 10th. Internships for fall start August 21 and run through December 8th.

Member Spotlight: Appreciating the Relationships
Lisa Franxman, Vice President Business Banking/Senior Bank Sales Manager, Anchor Bank
I handle the day to day operations of Anchor Bank in Farmington and enjoy partnering with business owners to help them thrive. In my career, the number one most amazing accomplishment for me was watching one of my business customers grow from a start-up company to a highly successful and profitable entity and knowing that I had a part in that. The three top things to know about me are that I'm relational, community focused, and I have an expertise in SBA lending.
I am serving my third term on the Board of Directors for the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce. I have also had the privilege of being the Chair of the Women's Conference in 2015 and 2016 and have served on various committees. Through my involvement with DCR Chamber, I have learned a lot and appreciate the relationships I have developed over the years. I am also an active member of the Farmington Rotary Club where I am currently serving as Secretary.
