Weekly Update:
Friday, June 4, 2021
This weekend in worship, we'll continue our series on the life of King David with a message on 2 Samuel 6:12-15, 7:1-17. In Chapter 6, David brings the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem and then begins to dance before the Lord. Together, we'll learn what God's covenant means for us and how we can rejoice in God's presence and faithfulness.

Our services will include celebration of the Lord's Supper. If you are worshiping online, plan to have the elements ready. Also, we will be collecting our Deacons' Fund offering on Sunday as an outflow of our worship. This fund is designated to assist people in our congregation and community who are struggling financially. You can place your offering in one of the boxes in the Worship Center or give securely online (select "Deacons Benevolence" in dropdown menu).

We look forward to seeing you at Cornerstone at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m. online!
Walk for Life: Tomorrow!
Let's walk together to support one of our missions partners, Advice & Aid Pregnancy Centers, at their annual Walk for Life! We'll gather tomorrow, June 5th, at 8:30 a.m. at Advice & Aid, 10901 Granada Lane, Suite 100, Overland Park, KS 66211. The walk is two miles long and there is no fee to participate; however, you can donate on our event page by clicking here. Questions? Contact Jordan Buscher.
Upcoming Congregational Meeting
There will be a Congregational Meeting between services at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, June 13 in the Worship Center. The purpose of this meeting is to elect three new ruling elders to the Session: Jeff Hunter, Ron Sterk and Deb Swirczynski. These nominees meet the Biblical qualifications, have undergone extensive training and have been examined by the Session and proven qualified to serve. Join us on Sunday, June 13th to elect these nominees!
New Month, New Mission!
Can you believe it's already June?! This month, we will be collecting items for Mission Southside. This organization mobilizes resources for those in need in Johnson County.

Currently, their greatest needs are:
  • Plastic zipper storage bags in gallon and quart sizes (preferably from brands like Ziploc, Hefty or Glad)
  • Individual sized store bought snacks such as chips, trail mix, cookies or rice krispie treats
  • Sidewalk chalk

Mission bags are available in the church lobby. Fill a bag with any of the above items and place it in the Missions Bin or drop it off on Saturday, June 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the church parking lot. Thank you for donating!
