All Politics Is Local... That's What They Say
Over the next few weeks, Chamber members have an opportunity to connect with their local elected officials and city staff members through Business Council meetings and State of the City Addresses. Join us to discuss various local issues in your community or learn more about future plans from your Mayor. Here's the lineup with easy registration links. We look forward to seeing you.
Eagan Business Council - Wednesday, March 8, 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.
Farmington State of the City Address by Mayor Todd Larson - Friday, March 10, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Eagan State of the City Address by Mayor Mike Maguire - Thursday, March 16, 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. Sponsored by the Minnesota Vikings.

A Busy Week at the Legislature With More to Follow
Chamber members received the first Action Alert of the Session  - a big THANK YOU to those that contacted their representative to encourage support of Uniform State Labor Standards (HF600).  Local grassroots support does truly make a difference!  Read more about the status of your Chamber's legislative priorities below:
Uniform State Labor Standards - Thanks to Dakota County regional Representatives Garofalo (author), Barr, Peterson, Christensen, Koznick, Jurgens, and Franke for voting in support of the bill.
Real ID - Passed out of the House in late February.  Representatives Barr, Franke, Jurgens, Peterson, Christensen, Koznick, and Garofalo supported HF3.  Passing REAL ID is critical for businesses that rely on efficient air travel for their employees or do business with the federal government.  Up next:  MN Senate vote.  Please encourage their support of SF166.
Sunday Liquor Sales - Repeal of the blue law passed in both the House and Senate; awaiting Governor's signature.
Good Day with the Minnesota Vikings
At Good Day Dakota County on March 13, we will hear an update from Steve Poppen, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, for the Minnesota Vikings on the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center in Eagan. We will also get a preview of the 2017 season from Offensive Coordinator Pat Shurmur. Pat Shurmur enters his 19th season of NFL coaching in 2017, taking over as Offensive Coordinator after handling the job for the final 9 games of 2016 on an interim basis.

Our cash prize drawing, sponsored by Home Federal, is up to $500! This is one you won't want to miss! Seating is limited so be sure to get registered today. Thank you to our program sponsors:

Member Spotlight: Connecting with Others
Kari Krummel, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union
I am a branch manager at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union. I have been with Affinity Plus for 15 years and I absolutely love what I do! We are a not-for-profit credit union that prides itself on treating our members with integrity, caring and excellence. One of the ways I find life most meaningful is when I am able to connect with and support others, whether that is through my professional work, my personal life, or through volunteerism. Working at Affinity Plus has allowed me to continue to help others, through the members we serve every day. Another way I have been able to connect with others, get involved in my community, and build the recognition of our business name, has been through the Dakota County Regional Chamber. The Chamber is connected and committed to its chamber members, providing solid professional and educational opportunities, promoting new businesses, and hosting networking events. I have very much enjoyed getting to know the other chamber members, the other businesses in my area, and gaining skills at the same time by attending some of their many seminars and events.
