Committed to Business... for YOU.
East-West Transit - Moving Forward
Do you transport your products East -West through Dakota County?  Where do your employees commute to and from?  Dakota County is undergoing an East -West Transportation Study and is seeking business feedback.  We all recognize that East - West routes in Dakota County are insufficient to keep up with the growing demand.  Get involved in this important discussion.  Learn more here.

To offer other opportunities for input, Dakota County has launched a website to gather input on where transit trips are desired, physical challenges that exist to using transit and information on the study.  There is also an opportunity to sign up for email updates on the study.  Additionally, if you are interested in serving on an Advisory Committee, please contact Vicki Stute at 651.452.9872.
School Board Candidates' Forum Scheduled for July 20; Election is August 9

The special School Board election will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9 in conjunction with Minnesota's statewide primary election. Breakfast With Champions: When Generations Connect
Join us for Breakfast with Champions: When Generations Connect on Thursday, July 28 at 7:30 a.m. at Southview Country Club. Four distinct generations are working together shoulder to shoulder, each with a unique set of attitudes, values and work styles. It used to be that older workers were bosses and younger ones took orders. Now, roles are all over the map and rules are being rewritten. Organizations are feeling the pain of generations as they struggle to manage productivity and morale while maintaining high standards of quality and service in a challenging economy. Our presenter, Bryan Lansing with BridgeWorks, will give you the tools to convert this form of diversity from an obstacle into an opportunity.

, every one rail job supports nine more across the U.S. economy.
The study, for the first time ever, quantifies the economic impact of freight railroads' private investments, which have surpassed $600 billion since 1980. The study also found that freight rail investments create $274 billion in economic activity and $33 billion in tax revenues. Read more about this study.
Orange Cones for Highway 110 in 2017

construction_hard_hat.jpg Your Chamber attended a special meeting hosted by MnDOT regarding the planned construction project for Highway 110 from Highways 13/55 to I-494 in Summer 2017.  The improvement project will cause significant disruptions during the construction period.  We encourage you to be prepared and plan ahead to ensure your customers know the best access routes for your business.
The project includes pavement, drainage, signing, and pedestrian improvements, including a Dakota County grade separated facility just east of Highway 149/Dodd Road.
A second informal public meeting will be held in August.   For more information related to the project, click here Watch your Weekly Update for additional information.
