Welcome to Pilgrim Church of Duxbury
An Open & Affirming Congregation

I want to take this week’s blast space to offer my heartfelt gratitude to Claire DeCusati, our Music Director as she concludes five years of faithful music ministry here at Pilgrim Church of Duxbury, UCC.

Music has always been at the heart of our faith. Long before sermons were written down, God's people sang their stories, their prayers, their joys, and their sorrows. Through music, we lift our voices in praise, find comfort in times of grief, celebrate life's milestones, and experience the presence of the Holy Spirit in ways that words alone cannot express.

For the past five years, Claire has helped lead us on that sacred journey. Through hymns and anthems, special music and seasonal celebrations, she has enriched our worship and deepened our connection to God and one another. Her gifts, dedication, and care have helped create moments of beauty, inspiration, and holy wonder within these walls.

Music also has the power to unite a congregation, to teach faith across generations, and to carry us through both the ordinary and extraordinary moments of life. After Covid, we were faced with the challenge to re-build our Music program and Claire stepped forward to do so after spending some time with us as a substitute. We are grateful for the countless hours of preparation, leadership, encouragement, and creativity that have blessed our church family.

As we celebrate this chapter of ministry, we give thanks for all that Claire has shared with us and for the ways her gifts will continue to resonate in our hearts. We pray God's blessings upon the next steps of her journey, trusting that the songs we have sung together will remain part of the story of our congregation for years to come.

With deep gratitude, we say thank you, Claire, for your faithful service, leadership, and music. May God's grace and peace be a gentle song in your heart as you wherever the next verse of life may lead.

Join us Sunday as we celebrate Claire’s Ministry with us after church!
