Welcome to Pilgrim Church of Duxbury
An Open & Affirming Congregation

What a great chill in the air this morning!

It’s October and it felt like it! So many things are happening this month, I thought I would ask AI what Pastors enjoy most about October!

Interesting results;

1.     Seasonal Reflection & Gratitude: October is a time for reflection, and many pastors emphasize gratitude for the harvest season.

I agree; It’s a time of thanksgiving for the bounty and blessings in life., many focusing on the understanding of stewardship, caring for God’s creation with our own gifts.

2.     Fall Colors and Nature: Yes, I love the colors and the walks.

3.     Harvest Celebrations: Yes, Harvest Homecoming is this weekend, and I am looking forward to the Apple Pies and Doughnuts! Oh, and seeing you!

4.     Preparing for Advent and Christmas: No so much, but yes, preparations are starting. Sometimes we are on the same schedule as the stores, two holidays ahead.

5.     Pumpkin Spice. NO, no, no…

6.     Church Special Services: It’s a lot of work, but World Communion Sunday, New Member Sunday, Jazz Sunday, Structured Hymn Sing Sunday, Stewardship Sunday and Thanksgiving Sunday are all in the planning schedule!

I hope you all take advantage of our worship time together.

What it all comes down to in the Fall is an appreciation of all that God has placed in our hands and hearts as we gather to give thanks in meaningful ways. I appreciate all of them, and You!
