January 30, 2026

Dear Holy Name Families,

We enjoyed celebrating Holy Name during Catholic Schools Week and capped it off today with Hawaiian Day. It felt tropical inside despite the below zero wind chill outside. Thank you to Student Council for sponsoring today's theme and activities and treating students to popsicles at lunch.

Amid the various CSW events, many students reflected on how our school is "united in faith and community." Olivia in 3-6 captured the spirit of CSW perfectly and gave a great compliment to our community: "We love our school because everybody matters here and we are here for each other." Thank you, Olivia...well said.

This week students enjoyed the basketball skills of Kevin "Showboat" Jackson of the Harlem Globetrotters as well as the musical talents of the Boston Police Band. Additionally, Boston Police Superintendent Nora Baston and Officer Paterson of the K9 unit joined us today as a guest reader and for a K9 demonstration as part of Buddy Day.

Since the week was truncated due to the weather, some events have been rescheduled or are in the process of being rescheduled. Our CSW Mass has been rescheduled to next Wednesday, February 4th. We will also be rescheduling our rosary making activity with Build the Faith, but that activity will happen after the February Break.

There are a few casual days coming up before February break. Two were already planned and two have been added. See the exact dates and themes in the next section.

Enjoy the weekend. Stay warm.

Best regards,

Mr. Chisholm
