Dear Holy Name Families,

Teams of 4th graders signed several business deals yesterday as they presented their product and business propositions to a group of hypothetical investors from our faculty. Modeled off Shark Tank, the year-end project asked students to create a product or company to solve a problem. Students then created a business plan that asked them to draw on their knowledge of regions, basic economics, and other topics they discussed in social studies.

Products included sports fitness trackers, batting helmets, self-inflating basketballs, solar powered blinds, robots for yardwork, and tropical flavored ice cream with many more ideas mixed in. Students displayed great creativity and preparation. More impressive than their creativity though, was their ability to think on their feet to answer the sharks' questions and evaluate the investment proposals. Great job 4th grade and Mr. Hastings!

Our 6th grade enjoyed a visit to the State House yesterday at the invitation of Senator Mike Rush; they also had the chance to meet Representatives Bill MacGregor and Rob Consalvo. Next week, we will celebrate their graduation ceremony on Friday at 5:30 pm in the Upper Church.

This Wednesday is Field Day. Our parent committee is planning a fantastic day of games, treats, and fun. Students should wear their gym uniforms on Wedneday.

On Monday, our 5th grade will be hosting a bake sale to benefit Mary's Meals. It will be hosted outside Parish Hall following dismissal. All items are $1; see additional details below.

Announcements and Reminders

• Our annual Field Day is on Wednesday, June 3rd. Students should wear their gym uniforms. They should bring a morning snack as usual. They will eat lunch at their typical time in Finn Hall. Students who did not order one of the hot lunch options should bring a lunch as usual.
• The 6th grade will be dismissed at 11 am next Friday. Prior to dismissal, they will take one final walk through the hallways to the cheers and applause of teachers and students.
• Holy Name Parish is hosting three upcoming VIRTUS trainings. They will be held May 31st at 12 pm, June 2nd at 6 pm, and June 18th at 6 pm. Click here to register.
• It is that time of year again! Yearbooks are on sale to commemorate the 2025-2026 school year! Click here to order your copy. (Grade 6 does not need to order a copy, it is part of their graduation package).

A Blessed Visit! Our K1 classes had a wonderful tour of Holy Name Church with Father Tom! He showed them the vestments, altar, chalice, and holy water font—and blessed the entire class with a sprinkling of holy water before they headed back to school. The children had such thoughtful questions. Thank you to Father Tom for deepening our understanding of our beautiful Church and faith.

Our 6th grade class had a wonderful day at the State House yesterday! We're so grateful to Senator Michael Rush for hosting us, sharing valuable lessons in civics and history, and treating us to pizza. Special thanks to Representative MacGregor for joining us at the end of the tour!

A huge thank you to our teachers and chaperones for making this possible: Michael Gordon, Joe Reilly, Diane Beatrice, Matt Mahoney, and Fr. Ferme.

Time to round up those too small uniforms! Drop off uniforms next week (June 1-5) in a collection bin in the front entrance of school. Come back to shop on Tuesday, June 9th from 5-7pm outside the main entrance of school. All uniforms are $2, cash and Venmo accepted.
