Winter Volunteer Appreciation Party!

Kicking off 2023 with a party to honor & recognize our wonderful volunteers!

Last Saturday, MacHabitat celebrated our wonderful volunteers at a Volunteer Appreciation Party! Our volunteers have worked tirelessly this past year building homes, serving on committees, fundraising and working in our ReStore. Many have dedicated 5 years, 10 years or even longer in service to our beloved community! We give special recognition to current volunteers Joan D. and Linda C., each of whom have devoted more than 20 years volunteering with MacHabitat. WOW.

It is an honor and a privilege to work alongside each of the special people who make up our base of volunteers! We greatly appreciate their fierce commitment to our mission of bringing people together to build homes, community and hope.

Starting TODAY: A HomeAway Adventure Auction!

Habitat for Humanity affiliates across Oregon are teaming up for a HomeAway Adventure Auction, featuring experiences across our beautiful state! The packages will support and benefit affordable housing practices state-wide, and the funds from each of MacHabitat’s packages will directly support housing for hardworking families in the McMinnville area.

Featured Package: "Enjoy Historic 3rd St!"

One of MacHabitat's two fabulous packages showcases the historic beauty of McMinnville's own 3rd Street! With this package, you’ll experience a night in a premium suite at the Atticus Hotel, featuring unbeatable service and carefully curated works from local artisans, craftsmen and designers that come together in a medley of community and the height of Oregon luxury.

Your getaway will include a certificate for authentic Italian fine dining at Nick's Italian Cafe, whose menu features family recipes passed down through three generations, created with fresh local ingredients. MacHabitat is thrilled to recognize our three Golden Hammer recipients; individuals who have shown exceptional service to our mission this past year. We thank Adrian C. for his service on our Construction Crew and as our artist-in-residence. Hanna M. has been a tremendous asset as a member of our Board, one of the FOUR committees she serves in!

And Peter S. has been both dependable and dedicated in our ReStore, covering shifts and going above and beyond.

These three individuals are a joy to have in the MacHabitat community!

Volunteer Opportunities

Below, you'll find a variety of specific opportunities to fit your schedule - if you see something that interests you, we'd love to have you volunteer with us!

Volunteers Needed: January 2023

ReStore Cashier
Fridays (10am-1pm) - covering for current volunteer’s vacation end of January & all of March
On-call for shifts Tues-Sat (10am-1pm / 1pm-4pm)
ReStore Receiving Room
We now receive donations every day! Staff can use help any time between 10am-3pm accepting and processing donations and/or organizing the store. Choose your own schedule!
Construction Crew
We have begun work on the next townhome build and are welcoming new volunteers to join us and bring their existing skills and/or learn new construction skills! No experience necessary! Crew works on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 8:30am-3pm. Pick one or all of those days!
Now scheduling one-time or routine volunteer groups. Team building opportunities while helping house others in your community - Win-Win!
