Weekly Update

January 7, 2026

WELCOME

Welcome to the first week of 2026! I trust the New Year has gotten off to a great start for each and everyone of you. As I shared with you this past Sunday, January is always a good time for a reset, a time to review and adjust our priorities in life. I love the FIRST THINGS FIRST sermon series that deals exactly with this idea of making sure that our priorities are aligned with Scripture. We looked at "Misplaced Priorities" in the first week of the series, which was basically having resources (wealth, money, material blessings), yet not having purpose in life. Far greater than earthly wealth is having a "rich relationship" with Jesus Christ! This weekend we will be talking about "Mismanaged Priorities." Having purpose, but with limited resources. We will learn that being "shrewd" is a good thing!

Welcome back to Wednesday Night activities on the campus of Midland Valley Community. All of our age specific ministries will be operating tonight, as well as the return of our delicious meals that we look forward to. If you are not in the habit of attending church on Wednesday evening, this would be a great night to start! I will be teaching from Ecclesiastes 9 in my Wednesday Night Wisdom Class tonight at 6:30 PM in the Family Ministry Center. Hope to see you there!

Welcome to The Mark Dubbeld Family, as they will be ministering to us at MVC this coming Sunday morning, January 11th, in both worship services, and then again in concert on Sunday night at 6 PM. We love and appreciate this talented and anointed family. Please invite some friends and family and plan to join us for a great evening of Gospel Music!

Love & Prayers,

Pastor David A. Gallimore

Happy Birthday Jesus Offering

Our project for this year’s Happy Birthday Jesus offering is to place crosses on the Midland Valley Community campus. There will be a very large cross (maybe not quite as large as the one in the Graniteville Cemetery), on our property that will be a very powerful and visible testimony to our community. In all probability, we will also place three crosses on the hillside as you drive up onto the campus where we currently have the three very “old, rugged crosses.” This would also include landscaping and a garden feel around the crosses. Please pray about giving a generous offering for this year’s beautiful project. Our goal is $100,000! Special envelopes are available or make sure to mark regular envelopes and checks in memo section “Happy Birthday Jesus Offering”.

PRAYER PARTNER MINISTRY

SEEKING ADDITIONAL VOLUTEERS

We are seeking an additional seven (7) volunteers for our Prayer Partner Ministry. The good news is that after almost a year of this ministry, we have not had one volunteer leave this ministry. The Prayer Partners are enjoying this ministry, and the ministry is making a big difference for our congregation. We would just like to move toward 8 on each team and maybe expand more in the future.

If you sign up for this ministry, then you will be assigned to one of the five Prayer Teams. You will serve on a 5 Sunday rotating basis. You will arrive at church at 8:00 am on your “duty” Sunday and prayer in the sanctuary for the services and then meet in Pastor David’s office at 8:15 to pray for him or whoever is preaching in his place.

Please contact Denny Giddings if you are willing to serve.
