Dear Holy Name Families,
We celebrated School Mass this morning for the Memorial of St. Francis of Assisi. Thank you to our 5th grade for hosting. In St. Francis' prayer, he asks for God's help "to make [him] an instrument of [God's] peace." While many may be familiar with this common prayer and it is prayed quite frequently, its message has not lost its meaning and seems to ring louder than ever in today's world.
After their visits to the Church with Fr. Tom and Fr. Joseph last week, grades one to six were well prepared to participate in the liturgy this morning. Nursery and K1 joined us for the first time this year and added their voices to the "Our Father." Also, the kindergarten classrooms deserve a special shout out for their singing of "Friends All Gather Round" at the offertory.
We are looking forward to Monday's first golf tournament sponsored by Home and School. More than 60 golfers will be hitting the links to support Holy Name. We are in need of volunteers for the tournament. Please see the Home & School section below for additional details.
Tonight will be a beautiful night for the Parent Ambassadors' Outdoor Movie Night. Please join us at 6 pm in the front schoolyard. While we hope tonight is fun, we want to be sure everyone is safe. Please encourage children to watch the movie and to not disrupt the experience of others with games or running around. Thank you for your cooperation.
Next week, our kindergarten will take their MAP tests. In addition, we will have a visit from the Boston Fire Department's Aerial Drill Team on Thursday and School Picture Day is on Friday.
Enjoy the weekend.
Best regards,
Mr. Chisholm
