On Monday, HNPS had a special guest visit us for a tour and to observe some of our classes. Mr. Liam Beatty is the principal of St. Thomas School in Camp Hill, Australia. He enjoyed seeing our classrooms, especially hearing our kindergarten students rattle off as many "m" words at they could in a minute.

Liam is here on a two-week visit to BC's Roche Center and is touring a few schools in the Archdiocese. We were happy to be among those schools and to welcome him to HNPS. As a thank you, he donated a book written by an Australian author to our library. In the future, we hope to find a way for our two schools to connect.

MAP testing concludes next week for our kindergarten and second graders. Next week is also the last week of the fall uniform guidelines. Winter dress code goes into effect on Tuesday, October 15th following the long weekend.

Home & School is eagerly preparing for its annual Touch-a-Truck event that will be held later this month. We are in need of more volunteers (see the note below). We are also still looking for more basketball coaches. This is our last call before we limit the number of teams and roster sizes. Please click the appropriate registration links below and volunteer today.

We hope to see you tonight for the Outdoor Movie sponsored by the Parent Ambassadors. We will gather in front of the school beginning at 6 pm with showtime at 6:45 pm.

Have a great weekend!

Best regards,

Mr. Daniel Chisholm

Principal

HNPS Outdoor Movie Night

Moments Captured this Week at HNPS

As we celebrate Custodian Appreciation Day, we want to express our deep gratitude to Juan, Beto, Michael and other members of their team that work hard keeping our school in tip-top shape. Their dedication to keeping our school clean, safe and shiny is appreciated! Thank you for all that you do! Gift cards and snack table coupons to celebrate their hard work at HNPS!

K1-4 had fun at choice time this morning and loved rotating to the different stations. What a perfect way to start off the day!

Our little artists in nursery had such fun making spooky cats with Miss Buckley. Using a fork for a unique texture, black paint and white paper they made great designs that next week will be transformed into black cats. How purr-fect and meow-velous for the Halloween season!

This week the sixth grade class welcomed representatives from several schools. The students appreciated this wonderful opportunity to learn more about these potential middle/high schools. The sixth grade girls welcomed a representative from Ursuline Academy and the sixth grade boys welcomed Xaverian Brothers High School and Catholic Memorial School. Thoughtful questions and discussion followed the very informative and engaging presentations. These interactions allowed our students to better understand the educational opportunities and experiences that these schools could provide as they consider their academic paths moving forward.
