Sunday October 31, 2021 after the service. Get your best chili recipe out and get ready for some fun. The day of the cookoff you bring your chili and we will taste all of them. Then we buy tickets and put your vote for the best in the dish next to the chili. After we have some great food we will celebrate the winners! Email the office or sign up in the back of the sanctuary, so we know who is bringing the chili.

A path to mental, physical and spiritual wellness exists right outside our doors. Join ANFT Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, Teresa Luginbill, for an introduction to Forest Therapy. 


Full Moon Nature Immersion


Friday evening, November 19th, 6:00-8:00pm


Join ANFT Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, Teresa Luginbill and others for an immersive nature experience to help you slow down, de-stress from the week, awaken your senses and deepen your connection to nature under the night sky and light of the full moon.


Bring whatever will help to make the experience comfortable for you - water bottle, bug repellant, umbrella/rain gear, blanket or mat to sit on. A folding chair may be helpful if standing or sitting on the ground is not comfortable. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes for walking outside. Cell phones should be left in your vehicle or turned to Forest Mode (a.k.a. Airplane Mode). This event will be held rain, snow and moonlight.

Carrie Newcomer JONAH Fundraiser Concert set for Nov 6, 2021

Joining Our Neighbors Advancing Hope (JONAH) will be hosting Quaker musician Carrie Newcomer in a concert at Grace Lutheran Church on November 6, 2021 at 6:30 pm. Tickets will be $25.00 in advance or $30.00 on the day of the concert, with no more than 300 tickets available.


This event will be a fundraiser for JONAH. Carrie’s music will be available for purchase with proceeds going to JONAH. JONAH task forces will also be present to share more about their work in Affordable Housing, Child Poverty, Criminal Justice, the Environment, Immigration, and Transit.

Friends of Library Pop Up Sale.png


The Friends of the Library will be hosting a Pop Up Book Sale on Saturday and Sunday, October 9 & 10, 2021, from 10 am - 3 pm. The sale will be outside in front of the former Pawn American Building (2615 Mall Drive, next to A1-Express Rental).


This sale will feature fiction, non-fiction, children's/young adult books along with audiobooks, and DVDs.


Saturday's sale prices will be $2 for adult hardcover books, $1 adult for softcover books, $0.50 for hardcover children/young adult books, $0.25 for softcover children/young adult books, $2 for audiobooks, $1 for DVDs.


Sunday will feature a Free Will Donation Bag Sale. Bring your own bag or pick one up at the sale.


All proceeds from our Pop Up Books Sales benefit literacy programs and services offered by the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library and the Friends.
