Dear Holy Name Families,

The first Holy Name Golf Classic launched this week with more than 70 golfers hitting the links on Monday. Through their participation, the raffles, and our sponsorships, the Home and School Association brought in $20,000 - what a start to its fundraising year.

Congratulations to Rich Bernazzani, Michael Bernazzani, Adam Bernazzani, and Mike Meagher - the winning foursome and first ever champions (See the team's photo in the Home & School section below). The four golfers represent many groups in our community: alumni, current parents, parents of alumni, and grandparents. All of whom made our tournament successful. We look forward to this new annual tradition.

Despite the mid-week rain, the sun shone bright for our other outdoor event this week. Yesterday, we welcomed the Boston Fire Department's Aerial Drill Team back to Holy Name. The team displayed the skills and teamwork needed on the fire department while also demonstrating techniques and teaching students about the department's vehicles and equipment.

As we enter mid-October, our first progress reports and parent-teacher conferences are approaching. We have a half-day on Thursday, October 23rd for Parent-Teacher Conferences. Progress reports will be distributed at conferences.

On Tuesday, our winter uniform goes into effect. Shorts are no longer allowed. Please click here to for an overview of the seasonal uniforms. Even on gym days, students should wear sweatpants. They can wear shorts underneath but students need to be dressed appropriately for the weather. Students go outside as much as possible. With the weather cooling, please send students with hats, gloves, and appropriate jackets.

Enjoy the long weekend.

Best regards,

Mr. Chisholm

Holy Name Happenings - Through the Lens

The Boston Fire Department Aerial Drill Team put on a truly spectacular display of fire rescue techniques today during Fire Safety Week at Holy Name! Our entire school watched in amazement as they showcased incredible acrobatic skills on the ladder, reminding us all of the bravery and precision it takes to keep our city safe. With 35 stations and 33 ladder trucks strategically placed, they’re ready to respond in just 4 minutes when every second counts! We are deeply grateful to the BFD Aerial Drill Team and the entire Boston Fire Department for their unwavering commitment and heroic service to our community. Thank you for all that you do to protect and inspire us!

Holy Name Parish School’s very First Annual Charity Golf Tournament was a hole-in-one kind of day! Huge thanks to Home and School, our amazing sponsors, the scratch golfers who brought their A-game, and the fantastic Putterham Golf Course.

Congratulations to the 1st place team, the winners were the Bernazzannis and Maher team!

Our third graders rocked STEM by cracking a mystery project! They used all aspects of STEM plus art, technology, and geometry to design an incredible eagle puppet—our school’s proud mascot. Creativity and STEM combined = a great project!
