MacHabitat's Dinner & Auction Growth

DID YOU KNOW?

MacHabitat’s Dinner & Auction has been growing

for more than 30 years!

What began as a community fundraiser has grown into MacHabitat’s largest annual fundraising event—and this year, we’re growing again! 💙

For our 31st Annual Dinner & Auction, we’re moving into the beautiful, larger Evergreen Events space as our event continues to grow, and creating an extra-special evening to celebrate the incredible impact our community has made over the years.

✨ This year’s event is packed with experiences to enjoy:

🍷 A coursed dinner with wine pairings

🎶 Two live music acts during our gala reception

📸 Photo booth fun

🍾 Wine Wall

🏆 A featured guest speaker and national award winner

🎁 More than 50 live, silent & dessert auction packages

✈️ Incredible getaways—including trips to Europe, Mexico and Central Oregon!

We’ve come a long way over the years, but the reason behind the event remains the same: bringing our community together to help local families achieve safe, affordable homeownership.

Today, it costs MacHabitat more than $180,000 to build each new affordable home, so continuing to grow this event means continuing to grow what we can accomplish together. Every ticket purchased, auction bid placed, sponsorship given, and paddle raised helps build the next home. 🏡🔨

As we celebrate 35 years of MacHabitat, come be part of the momentum—and enjoy a pretty incredible night while you’re at it!

🎟️ 31st Annual MacHabitat Dinner & Auction

📅 Saturday, November 7 | 5–9 PM

📍 Evergreen Events, McMinnville

Dress up. Raise a glass. Bid on something amazing. And help us build more homes, community and hope. 💙

WELCOMING NEW STAFF:

Lilly Riha

Please join us in welcoming Lilly Riha

to the MacHabitat team!

Lilly is our new Home Repair Program Coordinator, helping us grow and strengthen our Repair Program so we can continue helping local homeowners make needed repairs and remain safe and healthy in their homes.

In her new role, Lilly will help coordinate repair projects, work with homeowners, volunteers and community partners, and develop the systems and resources needed to continue growing the program. 🔨🏡

We asked Lilly a few questions so our community could get to know her better!

🎶 Three things you may not know about Lilly:

She attended a French immersion elementary school, loves live music of any kind, and has moved across the country three times in the last five years!

🐕🧵 When she’s not working:

A typical day includes hanging out with her dog, spending time outside, and trying her hand at a new craft. Right now, she’s learning how to sew and repair clothing!

💬 What is she most looking forward to at MacHabitat?

“I am very excited to build relationships with people across the community. I look forward to contributing to an environment where all people’s well-being is promoted, while doing fun and meaningful work.”

We think she’s come to the right place! 💙

Welcome to MacHabitat, Lilly! We’re excited to have you on our team and can’t wait to see the relationships you build and the impact you’ll make as our Repair Program continues to grow. 🏡🔨

STAFF ANNIVERSARY:

Sarah Munk

🎉 Congratulations to Sarah Munk

on 4 years at MacHabitat! 🎉

As our Development Manager, Sarah plays a crucial role in keeping MacHabitat’s mission moving forward—and much of her hard work happens behind the scenes!

Sarah puts her skills to work managing our major fundraising events and the dedicated committees that make them possible, researching and applying for grant opportunities, and making sure our team stays on track with the proper use and reporting of awarded funds. She also builds and maintains relationships with the generous donors and community partners whose support helps make our work possible. 💙

Sarah is also an important advocate and ambassador for MacHabitat in our community and beyond. Locally, she represents our affiliate through Yamhill County’s Equity Workgroup meetings and is an active participant in Greeters, where she has built connections with so many people throughout our local business community. At the state level, she participates in Housing Opportunity Days at the Oregon State Capitol, helping advocate for housing and the work Habitat affiliates are doing across Oregon. 🏡📣

And, like every great nonprofit professional, Sarah tackles plenty of additional projects along the way—because there’s always something new happening at MacHabitat! 🔨📋

Her attention to detail, relationship-building skills, hard work, and commitment help provide the resources and community support our team needs to build homes, repair homes, and create more opportunities for affordable homeownership.

Sarah holds an incredibly important role on our team, and we are deeply appreciative of everything she contributes to MacHabitat and our mission.

Please join us in thanking Sarah for four years of hard work and dedication and wishing her a very Happy 4th Work Anniversary! 🎉💙🏡

SPONSOR HIGHLIGHT:

Physician's Medical Center

Healthy Families. Strong Communities.

Building Hope Together!

We’re excited to recognize Physicians’ Medical Center (PMC) as a GOLD Sponsor of MacHabitat’s 31st Annual Dinner & Auction! 🎉🔨

As a family-oriented healthcare provider right here in McMinnville, PMC is dedicated to caring for individuals and families of all ages, offering services ranging from pediatrics and adult medicine to preventive care and wellness programs. Their team emphasizes patient-centered healthcare rooted in dignity, respect, and compassion. 💙

That commitment to the well-being of local families aligns closely with MacHabitat’s mission. We know that a safe, stable, and affordable home is an important foundation for good health, providing families with the security and stability they need to thrive. 🏡❤️

Through their generous Gold Sponsorship of our Dinner & Auction, PMC is investing in more than a fundraising event. They're helping MacHabitat continue building affordable homes and creating opportunities for local families to achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance that come with homeownership.

We’re grateful for community partners who recognize that stronger families and healthier communities go hand in hand.

Thank you, Physicians’ Medical Center, for caring for our community and supporting MacHabitat’s mission to build homes, community, and hope! 💙🏡🔨

Ramps, Rails, Repair Program

Homeowner Stories:

When Marilyn applied to our Repair program, she had front and back porches with unsafe stairs that had rotted out years ago. Now that the repair team has finished the job, Marilyn says:

"The front porch is now inviting, not dangerous! Thank you so much - the decks/porches are BEAUTIFUL! TOP NOTCH! The small details, like metered corners, sanding off the rough edges to the handrails, the perfectly cut notches...the porches are tight and strong."

BEFORE

AFTER

Repairs are more than just fixing structures - they restore dignity and security to a home and the people who live there. With our community's support, MacHabitat will complete projects up to $1,500 AT NO COST to the qualified low-income homeowner.

If you or someone you know is a homeowner who might be interested in our services, please fill out our  Repair Application. We are looking to serve our McMinnville community, as well as our rural communities. If you see a future with MacHabitat's repair program, we encourage you to reach out.

MacHabitat is Celebrating 35 Years

On February 14, 1991 – MacHabitat’s first home

was dedicated to the Sanchez family.

Since then, we have welcomed 77 families into homeownership…as well as launched a repair program, cleaned up neighborhoods during our “Block Blitzes”, and started a ReStore.

To celebrate our anniversary, we’d like to recognize individuals who helped shape MacHabitat along the way! Our 35th Anniversary Profiles shed light on these special community members and the milestones they helped make possible.

If you want to help sustain our programs for the next 35 years, we invite you to join our circle of monthly givers.

Please consider a recurring donation of $35/month to celebrate this milestone!
