CHAMBER OF COMMERCE NEWS
Come One, Come All
Osawatomie Winter Bazaar (Small Town Christmas Celebration)
Saturday, December 1st from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

If you don't have any plans on Saturday (yes, that's tomorrow), you should come out for a day of fun! Osawatomie will be kicking off the Holidays in style this year!

The fun will begin at the City Auditorium with Pancakes, a Lego Contest, a Silent Auction, the Band of Oz, a Coloring Contest and Soap Box Cars (on display).

After you've had a bit of fun there, you'll want to head down to the Loft on Sixth to get some Christmas shopping done! While you're busy shopping, the kids can enjoy a paint party, some holiday crafts and a chance to enter the coloring contest again (if they did not get a chance at the City Auditorium). Santa will also be making an appearance for those who would like to whisper their wishes to him. If you're thinking that's lunchtime, then you'll want to be sure to grab a bite from the Oz Fire Wives - they will be serving delicious comfort foods to keep you warm!

The fun doesn't stop there! While the Vendors are busy cleaning house, everyone is invited to sip on some hot chocolate and enjoy a cookie while attending a showing of the Polar Express in their Pajamas (blankets and pillows are welcome).

After the movie, you'll want to be sure to head back to the City Auditorium to watch the Paola School of Dance perform. The Mayor's Tree/Downtown lighting will follow the performance and sleigh rides will be given down Main Street to enjoy the coming of Christmas. Smokin' Babes BBQ will also have some yummy food to fill your belly and the Band of Oz will once again be performing.

And it doesn't end there. And I know you'll be tired - but end this most magical day by attending the Fire & Ice Ball upstairs at the Loft on Sixth (21 and up please). Ladies put on that fancy dress that you haven't worn since the last wedding you attended, and gentleman be sure to shine your shoes for some FANTASTIC entertainment by Kathleen Holeman. Appetizers and a Cash Bar will be available. Take this night to enjoy those around you! And don't worry, while you are busy enjoying, your kids will be able to "cut a rug" at the Winter Wonderland Dance that will be held downstairs (supervision provided).

IF YOU ARE BUSY WITH OTHER PLANS THAT DAY - please try to attend at least one or two things throughout the day. This celebration is meant for the community as a way to bring us together and to open up the Holiday Season!
It's that time of Year!

This time of year gets very busy! Please feel free to contact me with any Holiday events you may be hosting this month.

The Chamber will begin the 12 days of Christmas for the Businesses on Monday, December 10th and ending Saturday, December 22nd (no Sunday's included) so for those of you who will be having specials, please feel free to contact me with those.

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
NOVEMBER BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
AUTEN PHARMACY

In July of 1992 Steve and Teri Auten purchased Sinclair Drugs from Bill Sinclair. It was the lifelong dream of Steve's to own his own pharmacy and it was the first of many that he would own. Sinclair Drugs had been located at 546 Main Street in Osawatomie for about 30 years. The name changed to Auten Pharmacy and it remained at that location for the next 17 years. Steve was the Pharmacist in charge until his death in 2006. In 2009 Teri built a new building and moved the business to its current location at 125 E Main Street. This allowed the business to expand, have more parking and a drive thru to make it more convenient for the customers.

Auten Pharmacy has been providing quality pharmacy services to Osawatomie residents and its surrounding area since 1992. In keeping with their tradition of friendly and timely service, Auten Pharmacy offers a wide range of services to their customers.  They offer many specific products for Long Term Care as well. They can provide unit dosed medications and durable medical equipment. They package unit dose medications on-site for fast, dependable service. They also offer after hours emergency care so your loved ones will not have to go without a needed medication.  They offer a wide variety of diabetic supplies, including support hose, diabetic shoes, diabetic socks and diabetic testing supplies.

Ashley Auten, daughter of Steve and Teri, is now the proud owner of Auten Pharmacy. She is excited to get involved in the community and bring in new things to make it even better.

Special for the Month:

Auten Pharmacy will be hosting a coffee at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20th at their business (125 East Main Street). Please show your support by attending this coffee. This is a great way to get know Ashley and her staff and a great way to network with other businesses! Your support for their business is appreciated!
