Dear Holy Name Families,

We are grateful to the alumni, parents, grandparents, friends, faculty, and students who supported Holy Name on Giving Tuesday. Thank you for helping us "knock it out of the park."

Last evening, we held our Advent Prayer Service and Tree Lighting. Thank you to our Student Council for leading our Prayer Service and to our youth choir for leading us in song. It was a great evening to begin Advent.

Hopefully, many of you made some progress on your shopping lists at the Holiday Marketplace sponsored by Home and School; it has become such a fun, festive night. It is always good to get a visit from Santa and you're never too old to share your Christmas list with him.

Thank you to our students for selling raffle tickets to support Home and School's Holiday Marketplace. HNPS students exceeded their goal! As a thank you, next Friday, December 13th will be a casual day.

The Holy Name basketball season gets underway this afternoon with the first practice. We are looking forward to the season. Parents of basketball players are asked to review this important information if you have not already.

Have a great weekend.

Best regards,

Mr. Daniel Chisholm

Principal

Reminder About Inclement Weather

With winter here, we want to remind families that we use the IRIS alert system to notify parents about closings or delays due to weather. In the event of a snow day, you will receive an automated phone call.

Generally, in the case of snow, we follow the decision of the Boston Public Schools, but we will always issue an IRIS alert.

Moments Captured this Week at HNPS

The donations collected for the food drive were successfully transported to Roses Bounty! Two vehicles were filled to the brim with items donated for the children participating in the backpack program. The sixth-grade students collaborated to load the cars, while Mrs. Gagnon and Mrs. Beatrice unloaded the items at Roses Bounty, assisted by former librarian and volunteer, Mrs. Kercz. It was a rewarding day as we prepared the donations to benefit the children.

The Holy Name Holiday Marketplace and Tree Lighting was a tremendous festive event. The Student Council led Prayer Service, complemented by Christmas carols sung by the student choir, created a perfect atmosphere for the tree lighting. Each of the nine trees were decorated in different Christmas colors representing something unique about Christmas, the dusting of snow throughout the day added to the magic of the season.

A heartfelt thank you to Home and School for your dedicated efforts in organizing this yearly, joyful celebration of the Christmas season!

Home and School Update

Holiday Marketplace - Thank You!

The Holiday Marketplace was a great success and we wanted to extend a very grateful thank you to the Holy Name community, our local vendors, our parent volunteers, and especially our Event Coordinators, Julia Summers and Amanda Chisholm. Thank you so much for all that you do for the school!

Holy Name Parish School would also like to send a special thank you to Allandale Farm who once again made an extremely generous donation of Christmas Trees to our school.  Their support made a meaningful impact on our Holiday Marketplace festivities, allowing our students to engage in a creative and festive project that brought joy to the entire community. The opportunity for our students to decorate the trees not only sparked their imagination but also helped to foster a sense of teamwork and Christmas spirit. We are incredibly fortunate to have partners like Allandale Farm in our community.

We encourage our Holy Name families and parishioners to visit Allandale Farms this holiday season! Store hours are Monday – Friday 10AM to 7PM, Saturday-Sunday 9AM to 7PM. Senior Discount Day: 10% off on Wednesdays.  **Weekend parking reservations are required at this link https://allandalefarm.com/community-events. Your $5 reservation fee will be applied back to your purchase on the farm.

Save the Date: Santa’s Workshop – December 12th and 13th

Santa’s Workshop is a great event that gives students the opportunity to purchase their own special Christmas gifts for family and friends in an atmosphere that is comfortable and friendly. This event occurs during the school day and gets the children into the Christmas spirit while they thoughtfully choose their presents. Please view the flyer below to get an idea of this year’s pricing.

We are in need of volunteers for the event so please sign up HERE.
