This week's Academic Spotlight is on Mrs. Norris' PreCalc Honors class.

While math instruction is known for having lots of individual drill-and-practice type lessons, Mrs. Norris and the PVHS math department have worked over the last several years to bring more collaborative learning to math classes.

Not only does group learning in math allow students to build off of each others' knowledge to tackle a difficult math problem, it allows students to regularly monitor their own learning as they use their peers to check for understanding. PreCalc Honors classes, and many other math classes, always sit in groups to not only learn from each other, but to also develop collaboration and teamwork skills, vital for their 21st century careers.

Below are some pictures of PreCalc Honors students happily work together to review vectors for their upcoming test.

Good Luck Sea Kings! Ace that test!
