Please note the schedule changes for the following dates in March 2020:
Tuesday, March 10 is now a regular start Gold Day. 
Thursday, March 12 is now a late start Gold Day.
The calendar on our website will always have the most up to date schedule.

From the Academic Office
The time has come to begin selecting classes for the 2020-2021 school year. On February 6, during community period, students will receive their forecasting materials and will be meeting with the counselors to learn about the forecasting process. Additionally, all students will have an opportunity to meet with their counselor individually for guidance selecting their classes.
Individual counselor meeting will take place on the following dates:

February 12-13  Grade 11
February 19-20  Grade 10 
February 24-25  Grade 9

Please take time to review the course catalog and discuss course options with your student. The course catalog can be found at the bottom of the academics/curriculum page of our 
website .  

From the Athletic Department
All spring sports begin on Monday, March 2 (except Girls Lacrosse begins on February 24.) In order to participate, all information on FamilyID must be completed and signed, including uploading a current physical and medical history form, for athletes to be eligible. Please click here to register. If you have already registered for a Campus Ministry Program or a fall or winter sport, please continue to use the same email that you originally signed up with to expedite the process. When registration has been completed, the Athletic Office will send an email confirming that everything has been completed properly. BBHS no longer issues yellow cards.

Spring cut-sports consist of boys baseball, boys soccer, girls softball, boys and girls tennis. Spring non-cut sports are boys and girls lacrosse and boys and girls track and field. Tryout and practice schedules will be posted on the school calendar. Please reach out to the Athletic Office if you have any questions.  

Bishop Blanchet is currently looking for a Varsity Assistant Girls Softball Coach, a Head Girls Swimming Coach, a Head Boys Swimming Coach, a Varsity Assistant Girls Lacrosse Coach, a JV Girls Head Lacrosse Coach, a JV Girls Lacrosse Assistant Coach, a Head JV Boys Soccer Coach, a Varsity Football Defensive Backs Coach, a Varsity Football Quarterback Coach and a Frosh Football Assistant Coach. The jobs are posted on AppliTrack, WIAA and on our website  here . If you know someone that would be a great fit, please encourage them to apply.

The schedule for our Brave Summer Camps has been released. We are offering 14 different camps for rising K-9 students in academics, sports and more! Please share this information with grade schoolers in your life! More information and registration are available here.

Brave Venture Auction

The procurement deadline was Monday, February 3. If you have not turned in your item(s), please deliver them to the BBHS main office ASAP. If you did not procure items, you can still fulfill your commitment by making a monetary donation of $350  here or by donating  desserts  to our Dessert Dash, see information below.

Gentlemen, grab your fedoras and skinny ties. Ladies, dust off your pearls and party dresses. Come enjoy an evening at the Brave Piano Lounge followed by dinner and auction. Tables can seat 8 and 10 guests. Please r egister for the auction here.

From the Activities Office

This is a reminder that seniors have late starts on February 6 and 12. The rest of the school starts at 8:00 a.m. on both dates to work on their forecasting scheduling for next year.

Teens In Public Service (TIPS) is now accepting teen intern applications for their 2020 summer internship program. TIPS hires teens, ages 15-19, and provides them with paid summer internships working at a selection of nonprofit organizations in the Greater Seattle area, supporting community based initiatives and participating in leadership trainings, service activities and public speaking events. We are hiring an assistant coach for the cheer squad for the 2020-21 school year. Please check out the details here and encourage anyone you know who might be interested to apply. 

New for next year, the cheer squad will be open to sophomores, in addition to juniors and seniors. For more information on tryouts, please see our website.

This timely film explores the meaning of social media and how to use it as a tool to connect, share and care as opposed to it dominating our kids' lives. From the Office of Diversity and International Student Services

All students are invited to register for our third annual  BBHS Diversity Leadership Summit! This year, the DLS is getting even bigger and better, with the return of Christian Paige plus 6 new facilitators for a conference-style weekend event! We are also inviting students from other local Catholic high schools to join us for an even more epic DLS experience.

DLS will be held at BBHS on Friday, March 20, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 p.m.  and Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 9:00-1:00 p.m. A flyer with event details is attached here

This summit is designed for ALL students from all grades and all backgrounds. Students who are interested in developing their leadership skills through understanding diversity, equity and identity are encouraged to apply. Returning DLS participants are welcome to apply again!

From the Counseling Center
Please consider attending a parent-to-parent training in the Norcliffe Student Commons on  February 6, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. or on  February 11  from 8:15-9:30 a.m. The training aims to empower those who attend with tools to recognize and address the warning signs of a potential crisis, looking out for our own children as well as their friends, classmates and neighbors. 

Forecasting for 2020-21 and PSAT Review: Parents/guardians of 9th/10th/11th graders are invited to join BBHS Counselors on Wednesday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Norcliffe Student Commons to review the course selection procedures including graduation and college entrance requirements and instructions for completing the steps in the forecasting process. There will also be time spent reviewing PSAT results that were returned to students on January 10. Parents/guardians received an email with more details and registration information. College Kick Off Night for 11th Graders and Parents/Guardians: Juniors and their parents/guardians are invited to join BBHS counselors and a variety of college presenters on Tuesday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Ernie Rose Main Gym. Students will receive an email with details and registration information.

Senior parents, per our policy, BBHS will submit Common Application Mid-Year Reports and 7th Semester Transcripts to all schools that received an initial transcript, unless the student expressly declines this service prior to the end of the first semester of their senior year. 7th Semester Transcripts will also be added to the NCAA portal for those students who have registered. These will be submitted in early February, once the first semester grades are finalized.

Some of our seniors are already receiving admission decision letters from colleges. As your senior receives scholarship offers, please send a copy of the scholarship letter to Ms. Moehring in the Counseling Center so we can recognize your senior's achievement in the end of the year programming.

There are several different organizations that offer test prep for both the SAT and ACT. Here are a few:
  • Mazor Test Prep sessions are beginning soon. Please see their website for information on classes and tutoring for upcoming SAT and ACT administrations. BBHS students receive a $100 discount!
  • Test prep sessions are also offered through the University of Washington Women's Center. Please click here for more information.   
  • ACT Academy provides students with personalized study plans to help them prepare for the ACT.
