Help us give a warm welcome to Griffin as our new Board Representative from US Bank, as the incredible and dedicated Kurt Huppert has ended his 6-year term on the Board of Directors and as part of the MacHabitat Finance Committee. We are thankful to Kurt for his service, and are excited to have Griffin on our Board!
1. How did you get connected to MacHabitat?
First was a curiosity to all things Habitat when I moved to the market, as I loved what the organization did, but was never able to align to a local group. The awareness and visibility in the McMinnville community made it easy to connect with MacHabitat. Additionally, I loved any opportunity to volunteer and build as I worked custom home construction through my college years at Oregon State University. Secondly, working with Kurt Huppert and creating that connection there was another avenue to get exposure to the organization early on and leverage that relationship he had built.
2. What are 3 things people may not know about you?
-
5th generation Oregonian…born and raised with deep roots in the Willamette Valley.
- Huge outdoors person…hunting, camping are what occupy my time when not working or spending time with family.
- Have been in banking for 16 years, all with US Bank.
3. What's a typical day look like for you?
Wife and myself work to get 2 young daughters up and going for the day and off to school. This is followed by a full day of all things banking (meetings, travel, conference calls, meeting with our great clients) and getting the opportunity to support a great team of retail bankers that run our branch operations in this part of the state. The day is wrapped up with dinner and usually some play time and lots of reading with the kiddos before calling it a day.
4. What are you most looking forward to by serving on MacHabitat’s Board of Directors?
Engaging with the great board that is in place and finding ways to support the incredible initiatives they are working on.
Welcome, Griffin!
