Love Your Neighbor Webinar:
Help Families Receive Full Tax Benefits

Wednesday, March 16, 10am Pacific

This interfaith webinar will explain changes to the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit, and how you can help spread the word in our communities about these tax credits.

The American Rescue Plan Act passed last year included a historic one-year expansion of the Child Tax Credit (CTC) and Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Everyone needs to file a tax return to access these tax credits. With an amazing line-up of speakers, this one-hour webinar is for faith leaders, service providers and others who can assist individuals to claim the expanded CTC and EITC benefits this tax season. The ELCA is a cosponsor of this event.

Our next Living into Vocational Engagement (LiVE) Retreat:

Becoming Public Church

Saturday, March 26, 9am-1pm
at Faith Lutheran Church in Smokey Point
1424 172nd St NE, Marysville
All are welcome to attend this half-day retreat!

What kind of church does the world need us to be?
If your church were to cease existing in a week what would your neighbors miss about you? These questions draw out the public nature of being church in partnerships with our broader communities and neighbors. This requires a host of skills, practices, and strategies. Come to this half-day workshop to learn from practitioners who have embodied this approach, and helped move a stagnant, church system into greater sense of vitality and sustainability. We explore and imagine in conversation with you. what public ministry could look like for your particular contexts.
Presenters: Rev. Erik Samuelson, and Ryan Brown.

To Register:
IF you/your congregation is already part of the cohort, the cost is covered...
Simply register by emailing David@lutheransnw.org

IF you are not part of the cohort, cost is $30/person.

Support refugee and immigrant teenagers here in King County by becoming a licensed foster parent. All are in the U.S. alone and in need of long-term foster families to welcome them. At this orientation, our staff will share an overview of the youth we serve, the supports we offer foster families, and the basics of the licensing process.

There will be time for your questions, too.
