CHAMBER OF COMMERCE NEWS
Osawatomie Chamber of Commerce
11th Annual Home & Business Expo
Saturday, April 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This annual event is open to any business or organization that would like to participate. Your attendance provides an excellent opportunity to gain exposure, create awareness and to network with other area business owners while visiting face to face with potential customers & clients.

Businesses can sell their products or discuss their services not only to fellow exhibitors, but also to the community, as the event is free and to the public.

We will be introducing some sort of an Adult Scavenger Hunt this year and just as it has in the past, this event is being held in conjunction with the Osawatomie Easter Egg Hunt & PEO Pancake Breakfast. Walking Tacos will also be available for lunch.

For more information, or to register , please feel free to visit the Chamber's Website.
Interested in Keeping the Flowers Outside of the Businesses Alive?

On Monday, May 6th the Middle School will be helping to plant flowers in the planters located downtown. After that, the City of Osawatomie is looking for those businesses willing to help water the flowers outside of their businesses.

Tri-Ko has graciously volunteered to water on Monday, Wednesday and Friday's. We are asking businesses at this point if they would mind watering the flowers outside of their businesses. If you are able to do this, please contact either the Chamber Office at (913) 755-4114 or Ashley Kobe at (913) 755-2146 to let us know.
Please Welcome Our Newest Chamber Members!

It is with great pleasure that I welcome the following businesses to the Chamber:

BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
MARCH BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
CERAMIC STUDIO 2

Candice and Clinton Bryan were inspired to take over as owners of the Ceramic Studio when their 11 year old, Mya, came home crying one day in late November
of last year. Mya had been going to the studio since she was about 6 years old and thoroughly enjoyed painting her own ceramics. She was devastated when she learned that Mrs. Bickerstaff would close the doors forever if she could not find someone to purchase and take over the business. It was decided then by Mya’s Parents and Grandparents (Ed & Tamara Maichel) that they would purchase the Studio and take over as a “Mom and Pop Shop” with hopes of continued success within the community. And so in January of this year, they officially took over as the owners of the Ceramic Studio 2 Shop.

They wanted to give the community a place to go to be creative and everything you see on the shelves was made by them. And YES! You can paint anything on the shelves, or you can ask them to make something. They have over 5,000 molds to make ceramics including: Holiday, Spring, Baby Room, Mother’s Day, Jesus Crosses, Angels, Cups, Bowls, Clowns, Wild Life, Dragons, Ocean Life, Native American and much, much more!

If you are interested in having a birthday party (or any kind of party) that involves painting ceramics, they will gladly reserve a time for you! Of course, you can always stop in and visit them any time Monday & Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  They are even open on Sunday’s from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.!

The Ceramic Studio 2 is proud to be a part of Osawatomie. It is a fun place for both young and old to create paintings on beautiful Osawatomie made ceramics. They are excited to be here and look forward to seeing you soon!

Special for the Month:

Ceramic Studio 2 will be hosting a coffee on Thursday, March 7th at 10:00 a.m. Please show your support by attending this coffee. This is a great way to get to know Candice and Clinton and a great way to network with other businesses. Your support for their services is appreciated!
