Dearest Members...
As many of you may already know, I have tendered my resignation as Executive Director for the Chamber. It was not an easy decision for me to make, but one that I felt was necessary to keep my sanity.
I hope you know how much I have enjoyed the time I have spent coming to your businesses and visiting with you. I am also grateful for the listening ears and kind hearts you have shown me these past 3 years. I will miss that part of my job the most I think.
The Board of Directors will be accepting resumes until Monday, June 22nd. You can e-mail them to chamber@osawatomiechamber.org or send them to P.O. Box 63. You are also welcome to drop them in person to the Chamber Office at 509 5th Street. If I am not there, please feel free to leave it in an envelope with the ladies at the Utility Office.
My last day will be July 31st or when my Board hires a new Director, whichever occurs first.
But never fear! I will still be around advocating our businesses and this fantastically fantabulous town!
Respectfully Yours,
Hitomi :)

Soap Box Derby
Obviously with this whole COVID-19 the Soap Box Season has been cancelled. The Officials of the World Championships have also cancelled the Championship race in Akron Ohio this year. The last time it was cancelled was during World War II.
Even though I will not be serving as the Director for the Chamber next year when we're allowed to Soap Box again, I will still be the "Head Cheese" of this event with help from the Chamber Board and the Community (I hope).
If you have any interest, please feel free to leave me your contact information, so that I may get a hold of you when the time comes.

Farmer's Market
We've had some beautiful weather as of late...it's time for those garden fresh veggies that we start craving by the end of winter! The Board and Myself are in the process of working on the Farmer's Market, but just like last year, due to the weather, the planting and growing season is later than expected! ALSO! Because of COVID-19, we are doing our homework on the new guidelines regarding how this will need to be handled. We'll keep you posted!

LIFE CARE CENTER OF OSAWATOMIE:
Resident safety is a top priority for Life Care Centers of America, and we are taking necessary precautions to protect our residents from COVID-19. We are utilizing infection control procedures set forth by CMS, CDC and local health departments, and going over our own infection control policies and procedures. In addition, we are complying with the new CMS visitation restriction guidelines that apply to all nursing homes. These guidelines do limit visitors significantly in an effort to help protect our residents from possible exposure to this virus. As such, we encourage families to establish alternate ways of communicating with our residents, such as by telephone, texting, video conferencing or other means. We understand family members are an integral part of our residents’ lives and encourage any family members with concerns or questions about these limitations to call the facility for more information.

In conjunction with Ady Advantage, Miami County is surveying businesses to gather information on the economic climate and challenges facing business owners. When responding to the survey, you will have the ability to remain anonymous. The generalized data will be provided to county and city leaders.
If you wish to identify yourself and request information about programs that would be helpful to you, you also have the option to do that. You will receive the survey via email at a later time. It should take no more than five minutes to complete.
Surveys will be sent the weeks of June 15, July 27, Sept. 14 and Nov. 16. Results will be available about two weeks later. They will be posted on our website at
