Dearest Members...

As many of you may already know, I have tendered my resignation as Executive Director for the Chamber. It was not an easy decision for me to make, but one that I felt was necessary to keep my sanity.

I hope you know how much I have enjoyed the time I have spent coming to your businesses and visiting with you. I am also grateful for the listening ears and kind hearts you have shown me these past 3 years. I will miss that part of my job the most I think.

The Board of Directors will be accepting resumes until Monday, June 22nd. You can e-mail them to or send them to P.O. Box 63. You are also welcome to drop them in person to the Chamber Office at 509 5th Street. If I am not there, please feel free to leave it in an envelope with the ladies at the Utility Office.

My last day will be July 31st or when my Board hires a new Director, whichever occurs first.

But never fear! I will still be around advocating our businesses and this fantastically fantabulous town!

Respectfully Yours,
Hitomi :)
Soap Box Derby

Obviously with this whole COVID-19 the Soap Box Season has been cancelled. The Officials of the World Championships have also cancelled the Championship race in Akron Ohio this year. The last time it was cancelled was during World War II.

Even though I will not be serving as the Director for the Chamber next year when we're allowed to Soap Box again, I will still be the "Head Cheese" of this event with help from the Chamber Board and the Community (I hope).

If you have any interest, please feel free to leave me your contact information, so that I may get a hold of you when the time comes.
