CHAMBER OF COMMERCE NEWS
Donutty Professors/Professor B's Kitchen
710 6th Street, Osawatomie

Professor B has officially opened his store this week! He is open from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is offering Colorado Green Chili Breakfast Burritos until 10:00 a.m. every day and Mexican Hamburgers until they close. He will also have cookies and cinnamon rolls and as the week rolls on will be adding new items! Donut forget about his donuts either!

This is a carryout business only and as always, you can place special orders! It's been a long hard road getting his Laboratory up and running and he can't wait to see all of you again! If you have any questions, or would like to place an order, please feel free to call (913) 214-2419.
Hanes Florist

As many of you already know, Lori has closed her doors for good. She will be dearly missed, but we wish her and hers nothing but the best!
As many of you may also already know, David Spears & Myself have purchased Hanes Florist and will hopefully be having a "soft opening" at our new place located at 570 Main Street sometime in August. We plan to take limited orders at that time.

Please bear with us, as this has been a process and has all happened so very quickly! There are lots of little details to be ironed out before we officially open.

We hope to have the store completed by September with the "Grand Opening" sometime in September or October - but as well all know, sometimes things just don't go the way you planned, but I will keep you posted.
Navrat's Office Products

Sadly their Paola location will be closing on August 1st. They will continue to sell what items they have and have already begun some closing out specials. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact them at (913) 294-3130.

JULY BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
SōK BODY WELLNESS

SōK Body Wellness is an all-natural, essential oil infused bath and body products company. Their mission is to create high-quality, toxin-free wellness products to enhance your life. Their products offer a unique spin on some old classics all while staying true to keeping ingredients to a minimum without sacrificing quality, using essential oils that offer therapeutic benefits that smell amazing, and are completely natural. In fact, all of their ingredients are ranked at 1 or 2 on the EWG Skin Deep Cosmetics Database (which is really good!). All their products are dreamt up, created and handmade right here in Miami County.

Founded in 2018 after much time, prayer, and research, the owners, Josh and Kati Meyers, launched SōK (soak) with their Signature Collection of Bath Drops (think bath bomb….but better: it brings about the most relaxing and beneficial bath experience you will ever have.) They quickly expanded
to include the Simplicity Collection (a budget-friendly collection) of Bath Drops in early 2019. In the summer of 2019, they re-branded to SōK Body Wellness and now offer shower products, and a collection of essential oil infused liquid products for everyday life (see www.sokbodywellness.com for all that they offer!). They hope to continue to expand their product offerings to include facial care, perfumes, more wellness essential oil rollers, body butters and more.

Josh and Kati are passionate about helping people see that they have the power to take ownership in their wellness journey with all-natural products for their homes, baths and bodies. One of the ways they do this is through educating people about essential oils and their many benefits. Kati has been with Young Living Essential Oils since 2016. The Meyers have experienced some amazing benefits from implementing essential oils as a normal part of their lives. Kati loves to talk oils and would be delighted to take you out to coffee to educate or answer any questions you might have.

To keep up with SōK, you can follow them on Instagram or Facebook (@sokbodywellness). You can see all they have to offer over at www.sokbodywellness.com. You can also reach out to Kati via text or call, (765) 426.9450.

2020 Census Information:

Did you know if 1 person is missed in your community in the 2020 Census, there is a potential financial loss to your community of $2,082*? In Kansas, the average household is 2.5 residents. If one “average” household is missed, that can cost a community $5,205 per year. Then, consider that a census won’t occur for another 10 years – that’s $52,050 in lost resources your community relies on. The Census is important and that’s why we need you to get your city, county, and community involved. (*Data provided by  George Washington Institute of Public Policy ). From a direct economic development perspective, retailers and business prospects are attracted to areas with a growing population.
