5th Annual Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic

The Chamber's Annual Golf Tournament is just around the corner! It is set for Saturday, October 5th.

For those of you who have continued to support this event for the last several years, I truly appreciate that! For those of you who have formed teams to come out and golf – I hope you’ll do so again this year! I think we had a lot of fun last year and plan on more fun again this year!

First United Methodist Church is Celebrating 165 Years

Sunday, September 15th beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Come celebrate First United Methodist Church's 165th Celebration of continuous Ministry in Osawatomie. They are the oldest "business" in Osawatomie and the second oldest Methodist church in the Kansas Territory. They will have Fellowship at 9:30 a.m., Worship at 10:30 a.m. and a potluck lunch at Noon. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join us.

Osawatomie Freedom Festival

The Freedom Festival is a living history event that brings the Border War and the Civil War to life! Come to the Freedom Festival and see Civil War re-enactors bring the Battle of Osawatomie and other Border War and Civil War Battles to life, along with other family fun activities!
Donutty Professors/Professor B's Kitchen Ribbon Cutting

Tuesday, September 24th at 10:00 a.m.

Come join us for a Ribbon Cutting for the Grand Opening of Professor B's Kitchen! Bruce is excited to finally have his new establishment open and will have light refreshments for you to partake in that day!

Please remember that he is open from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is offering Colorado Green Chili Breakfast Burritos until 10:00 a.m. every day and Mexican Hamburgers until they close.

Friends of the Mentally Ill Foundation Potluck & Business Meeting
11th and Main Street (Community Church of Christ)
Monday, September 30th at 6:00 p.m.

The FMIF is planning a pot luck dinner to be followed by the annual business meeting at approximately 6:45 pm. They will be providing coffee and ice tea, rolls, and have condiments available. They will also provide table service. They will be reviewing the Foundations activities over the past year as well as announcing the results of the election for the 2020 Board of Directors. In addition, they will have their brochures with membership information available. Bring a Spouse, a Friend or just Yourself! They hope you'll come out and enjoy! Their Paola campus is offering the following two sheds for sale:

Gambrel Shed:

8ft x 10ft – with 8 feet walls, treated 2” x 6” floor joist, ¾” treated plywood flooring. The shed has a 24” x 24” sliding window and a 4’ x 6’-9” door. Walls are 2” x 4” that are 16” OC, it has a 2” x 4” truss roof with asphalt shingles. >> See Picture

The sheds will be sold by sealed bids only. Your bid should be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Paola Sheds” to Buddy Tanck either in person or by mail to their Paola Campus.

Bidding will close at noon, on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. Bids will be opened on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Winning bidder will be notified that afternoon. Payment must be made by Friday, September 27, 2019. Bidder is responsible for removal after payment is made, and removal must be completed by October 11, 2019.

Miami County Cancer Foundation's Give them a BOOST

The Miami County Cancer Foundation spends thousands of dollars every year on nutritional drinks for their clients. They are collecting cases of nutritional drinks (Boost, Ensure) to provide to their clients (who prefer Chocolate flavor - but of course all donations are welcome). They drop off location is at the Paola Chamber of Commerce (6 West Peoria) Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. They will be accepting donations until October 31st.
Donate Your Gently Worn, Used & New Athletic Shoes

Help the Ozone raise funds for their organization by donating your gently worn, used and new athletic shoes! Money raised will be put towards improving the fitness center!
