HOMECOMING DANCE: COVID-19 TESTING REQUIRED FOR UNVACCINATED STUDENTS
Students planning to attend the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 9 must be fully vaccinated or submit a negative COVID-19 test result. A PCR or Antigen test must be administered no earlier than Wednesday, October 6, and proof of a negative test result must be shown at the door. The Dean’s Office will connect with students who need to provide a negative test result. Please email the Dean's Office with any questions.

CLASS OF 2025 EVENT: FIRST-YEAR FUN
The Class of 2025 is invited to gather in the Quad this Friday, September 24 from 5- 6:45 p.m. for a class celebration with games, activities, pizza and Dick’s cheeseburgers! The event is free - students just need to bring their appetite and their ASB card for the game. Students can find more information in the Class of 2025 Google Classroom. Afterward, students are invited to move up to Mickey Naish Field to cheer on our Varsity Football team. The theme for the game is “Tie Dye”. See the Spirit Store section below for more information.

HOMECOMING DANCE 
The BBHS Homecoming Dance is Saturday, October 9 from 7-10 p.m. in Ernie Rose Gym, for BBHS students only. Homecoming at BBHS is traditionally a casual dance, and students attend with friends - dates are not required. A theme will be announced as we approach the event. 
  • Unvaccinated students must submit a negative COVID-19 test prior to the dance. Please see the Dean’s Office section above for details.
  • The cost is $10 per person, payable at the door.
  • Students must show their ASB/ID card (or a photo of it) for entry to the dance.
  • Everyone attending is required to wear a well-fitting mask that covers the nose and mouth for the duration of the dance.
  • Students are asked to wear athletic shoes to help protect the gym floor. 
  • The doors open at 7 p.m. and students will not be admitted after 8 p.m.
  • Students will not be permitted to leave the dance until 9:30 p.m. (30 minutes prior to the conclusion of the dance).
  • Once students leave the dance, they will not be readmitted.
  • Students must be picked up within 20 minutes of the conclusion of all dances sponsored by BBHS.

SHIELD DRIVERS EDUCATION CLASSES AT BBHS
The fall Shield Driver’s Ed session will be offered beginning next Tuesday, September 28 via Zoom. Classes will be held virtually on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4-6 p.m. and are for BBHS students only. A parent or guardian needs to attend the first class with the student. There are a limited number of spaces available, and classes require a minimum enrollment of 10 students. Please register here.

VARSITY FOOTBALL VS. INGRAHAM ON MICKEY NAISH FIELD 
Come out to support the BBHS Varsity Football team this Friday, September 24 at home vs. Ingraham High School at 7 p.m. The theme is Tie Dye, so wear a Blanchet tie dye t-shirt and get in the spirit!

Spectator Reminders
  • Universal masking guidelines are in place: All spectators age 5+ must wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Gates at Micky Naish Field open at 6 p.m.
  • BBHS and Away Students use the North Entrance (85th Street)
  • All other fans use the South Entrance (82nd Street)
  • Students must to show their ASB/ID card (or a photo of it) for free entry to the game
  • Backpacks & gym bags are not allowed in the stadium. There will be a specified location by the student entrance for any gym bags or backpacks if students bring them
  • No in-and-out service; if you decide to leave, you are not allowed back in (this pertains to all spectators)

2021 FALL SPORTS METRO LEAGUE SPECTATOR POLICY
The Metro League's fan/spectator policy for the 2021 Fall Season is as follows:

Outdoor sports:
  • Spectators are allowed to attend home and away outdoor events
  • Masks are required at all outdoor events, regardless of vaccination status or the number of fans in attendance
  • Fans are encouraged to sit socially-distanced

Indoor sports:
  • Spectators are allowed to attend home and away indoor events - with the exception of swimming until Metro, District and State (TBD)
  • Masks are required at all indoor events, regardless of vaccination status
  • Fans are encouraged to sit socially-distanced

BLANCHET VISIT DAYS ARE BACK
Spread the word to all of the 8th graders in your life - Blanchet student visit days are back! 8th grade students are invited to visit the BBHS campus during a school day, for an opportunity to check us out in person!

On-campus visit days begin next week; sign ups are currently available on our website. Time on campus with a Bishop Blanchet student ambassador is by far the best way to experience our academic programs and community, giving 8th graders a great way to help decide if BBHS is the right fit for them. Visit days fill up quickly, so reserve a spot for your student today!

BBHS OPEN HOUSE: OCTOBER 20
Our in-person Open House will take place on Wednesday, October 20 from 5:30-8 p.m. We are refining our event to provide students and families an on-campus experience as we follow evolving King County Public Health and CDC directives for large gatherings. HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
From September 15-October 15 we highlight the cultures, history, stories, heritage, accomplishments, and contributions of U.S. Latinx and Hispanic communities. 

Check out the Hispanic Heritage Month Toolkit to find various ways to celebrate this month! In this toolkit, you’ll find saints to learn more about, history to explore, foods to eat, local businesses to support, music and podcasts to listen to, books to read, and events to attend. How will you celebrate Hispanic Heritage month? 

COLLECTION FOR REFUGEES AND PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS
We are called through Catholic Social Teaching to pursue justice and peace, and not just promote it, but truly live it out through our actions. For our first BBHS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Assembly on Wednesday, September 29, we invite BBHS students, families, and employees to contribute to a collection in support of two local organizations supporting the displaced: Catholic Community Services of Western Washington and World Relief Seattle.

All donated items will go directly to the local community. Students should bring the following suggested donations to their CP classes on Wednesday, September 29:

9th & 10th graders - kitchen items:
  • Cooking utensils
  • Stainless steel utensils
  • Plates and/or bowls
  • Small saucepans
11th & 12th graders - household items:
  • Bed linens (twin or full-size)
  • Towels

MAC FALL VIRTUAL PARENT NIGHT: OCTOBER 6
We invite all families, students, faculty and staff to join the Multicultural Affairs Council (MAC) Fall Virtual Parent Night! Please join us via Zoom on Wednesday, October 6 at 7 p.m. This program focused on the parents of BIPOC students (Black, Indigenous, People of Color). We hope to provide a space to build parent connections, offer resources, and host a parent panel on how to support your student as they navigate high school. Opportunities for community and Q&A will be included. To help us plan, please complete this RSVP form by Monday, October 4.
