WE NEED YOUR HELP!!

The Stewardship Committee is organizing what we are calling Fall Festival at Cathedral Square for the parish and community of Laramie on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 11-3 p.m., following the service. We want to welcome back members of the parish who have been away for the summer or up at St. Alban’s Chapel, and invite and introduce new students and community members to St. Matthew’s Episcopal Cathedral. We would like to include an opportunity for those present to win gift baskets and door prizes, and we are asking for donations. Ideas include, but are not limited to the following:

Theme baskets (Movies, Pasta, Holidays, Games, Baking, Kitchen, etc.)

Gift Cards

Beverage / Wine (21+)

Tool Sets

Cozy Blankets

UW Tickets (Sports, concerts, plays)

Be Creative!! Your generosity is appreciated, but try to keep your donation to around $20-$40. Please bring your donations to the church or to the office no later than Sunday, September 13, 2026. The more we have to give, the better!

We are also looking for volunteers to help out. We need people to sell 50/50 raffle tickets (50% goes to the winner, 50% goes to Cathedral Home), hand out door prize tickets, organize a Corn Hole tournament with prizes for 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place, and people to welcome visitors in the sanctuary, cook food, set up, clean up, etc.

Bishop Search Prayer 

Almighty God giver of every good gift and source of all wisdom and understanding look graciously upon your church and so guide the minds and hearts of those who will choose our next bishop. We pray that to those who offer themselves as candidates in this process you will grant wisdom and discernment a spirit of revelation and knowledge of your will that they will care for all your people and equip us for our ministries through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Romans 12:9-13

"Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers."

Lord, let our love for one another be sincere. Help us to oppose evil by our own loving thoughts, words and deeds. Help us to truly honor one another and to be fearlessly serving You. Help us to not give up when things are difficult but to persevere in prayer. Let all who come into our midst be welcomed warmly. Let Your Name be famous among us. Help us to walk in faith and not fear (add your own prayers).
