SEEKING COMMISSIONERS AND DELEGATES

226th General Assembly in Salt Lake City, Utah

You are encouraged to consider serving as a Teaching or Ruling Elder Commissioner or Young Adult Advisory Delegate for the 226th General Assembly of the PC(USA). This coming General Assembly (GA) will be a hybrid meeting, with both in-person and online components. 


Virtual introductory gatherings and training sessions will be held in April and June, with Committees meeting virtually from June 25-27, 2024. All participants will then travel to Salt Lake City, Utah for in-person plenary sessions June 29-July 4, 2024.

WEE KIRK CONFERENCE SCHOLARHIPS

Administered by Beaver-Butler Presbytery, $75 scholarships are designed to help individuals attend the Wee Kirk 2023 Northeast Small Church Conference. The purpose of Wee Kirk is to inspire, equip, motivate and encourage small churches and to provide rest and refreshment for the clergy and lay leaders of those churches. The conference will take place on October 9-11 at Laurelville Mennonite Church Center in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania.

PEACEMAKER TO VISIT IN SEPTEMBER

Amira Barham will be visiting us as our peacemaker. Amira, a Palestinian, was born and raised in the town of Beit Jala near Bethlehem. She has been serving marginalized children in Palestine through Sounds of Palestine.

PTS RECEIVES LILLY ENDOWMENT GRANT

Pittsburgh Theological Seminary has received a grant of $1.25 million from Lilly Endowment Inc. to help establish the Faith Forming Families Network (F3 Network). This innovation lab will “rebuild the neighborhood” with mutual care and flourishing as envisioned by their most notable alumnus the Rev. “Mister” Fred Rogers ’62.


The project is being funded through Lilly Endowment’s Christian Parenting and Caregiving Initiative.
