During the months of February and March, students in grades K-8 have lessons in bothinternet safety and personal safety. We use materials from Netsmartz ( https://www.netsmartzkids.org/ ) and the Monique Burr Foundation/ Child Safety Matters ( https://mbfchildsafetymatters.org/ ) to meet Archdiocesan required objectives. ( http://www.archspm.org/sections/child-components/ ).

This is also a great time to remind all adults about the Safe Environment training required to volunteer with students at St. Michael Catholic School. This includes a live course called VIRTUS and a few online training modules, a background check, and a signed Code of Conduct. Before you are allowed to coach, work one- on-one with students, or attend field trips or overnight trips, volunteers must complete the "essential three" listed above.

GO BLUES!

Team 4644, Robotic Adrenaline, had a very successful season.  While legacy in number, this all-rookie member of 7th graders finished in the top 4 of each of there two competitions and battled as the top team alliance in the finals of each tournament.  Key this year was a balance of lots drive practice and use of autonomous scoring.  Practice, practice and more practice helped prepare them to compete.  And, from the autonomous side, learning to program a color sensor and the Vuforia camera software boosted performance from tournament one to tournament two.  Having a strong autonomous program was important for putting the team in position to perform at its best. Future looks bright for this young team:)

ambassadorAmbassador Families Program

The goal of the ambassador program is to ensure new families feel welcomed and prepared as they enter the school year. The ambassador family will create a personal relationship with new students as part of the St. Michael Catholic School Community. They will also assist with on-boarding of new families during back to school nights and school sponsored events.

We are working hard to build a solid foundation to ensure the success of this program. If you are interested in being an ambassador family, please email [email protected].
