Virginia Synod
Young Adult Retreat
On May 10-12, 2019, young adults of the Virginia Synod gathered for a weekend retreat at Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp & Retreat Center. This exciting new ministry, supported by the ForwardingFaith campaign, saw 14 young adults from all across the Virginia Synod gathered to spend their weekend in worship, fellowship, and community. Led and organized by young adults of the Virginia Synod, the retreat's theme was “Foundation of Community” and focused on Ephesians 2:19-22.

Any young adults (20 to 30-somethings) who would like to connect digitally to the young adult group, are invited to join the group's Facebook page for planning and information about future events!
Alive in the Church: A Series Introduction
Congregations often ask, "Where are the young adults?" In this introduction to the "Alive in the church" series, Savanna Sullivan the program director for  ELCA Young Adults  urges people to "look around" and "listen up."
Virginia Synod Rostered Ministers Gather Together
Over the last several weeks, several gatherings of Virginia Synod Rostered Ministers have been held. The Richmond Conference took a trip to visit Lake Gaston, where they had a picnic together, and boat tour.

Rostered Ministers of the Costal Partnership (made up by the Tidewater Conference and Peninsulas Conference) also gathered together in a joint conference gathering to share news, joys, and discuss matters that are relevant to their area.

Our Conference Deans also recently gathered in a meeting to connect with the Synod Office, and to share matters that are important to each of their regions.

We are so happy to share the unity and fellowship of our rostered ministers and celebrate the time they spend together!
Virginia Synod Sermons
Sermons are available one month prior to the Sunday service they are to be shared during. View all the sermons shared   on the Virginia Synod website.
