will be THIS Sunday

We will be welcoming our new district Superintendent Byungmoo Lee, who will be presiding.We also will be having a potluck in place of normal coffee hour.

The Spiritual Growth Team needs donated materials for a service activity at the “Angels Among Us” Advent Retreat (Saturday, December 13).

Part of the retreat time will be devoted to working on fleece “fidget blankets” for local memory care patients. (No experience necessary!)  

We need the following items, if you have any extras around the house. Everything needs to survive laundering in hot water; nothing sharp or pointy. 

• Zippers
• Large buttons, large flat beads, similar objects 
• Buckles
• Lace (trim and appliques) 
• Appliques, small crocheted motifs, felt flowers, etc.
• Ribbons (of all sizes and textures), fringe, braided cords
• Fabrics with different textures and/or bold patterns (mostly soft and fleecey; also satiny, velvety, corduroy, fuzzy, crinkly, shearling, etc.). Small, medium, or large pieces all useful. 
• Soft side of sew-on velcro 
• Flat plastic objects with interesting shapes, smaller than 2” across (will be permanently enclosed in a sewn pouch)

Please drop donations off in the labeled box in the Fellowship Hall.

We need donations of name-brand canned fruit (e.g. pears, peaches, pineapple, mandarins or cherries) to use during the new Monday morning brunch ministry. The request for name brands is to ensure consistent quality. Please label your donation "Bonnie Valade" and drop it off in the church kitchen any time the church is open. These items will be needed on an ongoing basis, through April.

It’s Staff Appreciation Time!

Staff Parish Relations Ministry Team is kicking off our annual staff appreciation campaign this week. Over the next three weeks we ask the congregation consideration in supporting this campaign. We have an outstanding staff that ensures John Wesley functions flawlessly on a daily basis. 

You can contribute by

• using the red envelopes in the pews,
• mail or drop off your donation at the church office
• or click “Give on Line” on the John Wesley's website using the Select Fund drop down menu select Staff Appreciation Fund. 

Please have all donations in by December 15th. 

CHANGING OUR WORLD for November and December is the Pastor's Discretionary Fund.
