Message from the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce President Maureen Scallen Failor on Coronavirus (COVID-19)
We are facing fluid and extraordinary times in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the best interest of you, your business, and our community, we are postponing all Chamber events/programs through March 31, 2020. Committee meetings will be conducted via conference calls and members will be receiving more information. This decision is based on the recommendations of our Public Health Departments. Please check the
Chamber & Community Events Calendar
on the Chamber’s website for updates on all Chamber activities.
Our office will remain staffed on a limited basis and accordingly based on the health of our employees. Our staff has been directed to stay at home if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms. Please call ahead of time if you do plan to stop by the office as schedules can change quickly. We will continue to serve you. I am confident we will find innovative ways to encourage connections and business building in new and technological ways. We continue to monitor the situation and are working with our local, county, and state partners to disseminate important information and prepare for any potential impacts. We will continue to provide you with updates and resources for your employees and businesses.
Finally, we have entered some very challenging and uncertain times. We need to band together, support each other, and assist when needed. Please consider supporting our member businesses
—
especially those in the hospitality industry. Purchasing gift cards to be used in the future is one example.
We will be having a section in the Weekly Update dedicated to resources and up-to-date information. If you have information that you feel businesses can benefit from, please send us the information. Information and education are powerful tools for us to have navigating through these challenging times.
Please feel free to contact me via phone or email if you need any assistance or resources to help you and your business and employees. I can be reached at (651) 288-9201 or
Thank you,
Maureen Scallen Failor
