With Sympathy

We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Sam Hathy, who died on Monday evening. A Celebration of Life for Sam will be held in the Sanctuary this Saturday, August 2, at 10:00 AM, with a reception following the service in Wesley Hall. Please be in prayer for Sam's wife, Mary, and the rest of the Hathy family.

2nd Quarter Generosity Report

Thank you, MUMC congregation, for your continued faithfulness in giving. Contributions in June 2025 totaled $113,908, bringing the total through the first half of the year to $610,094. Through June 30, the contributions balance is about $49,000 less than pledged and budgeted for. Even though summer vacations may take some of us away from Sunday services, we are celebrating a 10% increase in worship attendance this summer compared with last year. Good news! As we grow, so do our opportunities to share our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Our giving has increased 1%. More good news! But we have an opportunity to close the gap. If you’ve recently joined us, or if giving hasn’t been part of your routine this summer, now is a great time to start. Your continued generosity supports the ministries and missions of the church all year long. And remember, if you’re away, you can continue to securely support MUMC through the Realm app.

August 4 | Youth Led Worship

Join the Youth Band for youth-led worship on August 4 at 7:00 PM. We can't wait to worship with everyone!

August 7-16 | Wesley Hall Flooring Project

Exciting news! Wesley Hall is getting a flooring upgrade! From August 7-16, the old carpet will be replaced with durable, easy-to-clean coated cement floors to better support our busy ministry life. This floor replacement is possible due to the proceeds from the Sound of Music production, Broadway Nights, the Filipino Feast, and several anonymous donors.

*Please note: Wesley Hall will be closed during this time. Watch for updates on temporary location changes for scheduled events. We appreciate your patience as we improve our church space.

August 20 | Pizza Dinner and Survey Says! Game Night

Join us Wednesday, August 20 for a fun-filled evening the whole family will enjoy! Pizza Dinner from 5:15 - 6:30PM. Included in the dinner are 2 slices of pizza (cheese, pepperoni or sausage), a salad, dessert and drink - $6 per pizza dinner. You can add an extra slice of pizza to your dinner for $1. Register for pizza dinner here. This registration will close at 11:30 PM on August 19 to order the food.

Survey Says! Game Night begins at 6:30 PM. Get ready for laughs and friendly competition as we play our church-wide version of the classic game show. We will form teams and try to guess the most popular survey answers to fun and quirky questions. All ages welcome – whether you are 8 or 88, this night is for YOU! Don’t miss this great night of food, fellowship and fun!

RECREATION MINISTRY

Fall Soccer Registration Now Open

Registration is now open for the fall soccer season at MUMC! Please use this link to sign up your athlete.

The fee for soccer will be $165. There is a $15 discount if you register by August 16, the day of evaluations. There are limited scholarships available. We ask that you volunteer as a coach or in the concession stand to receive a scholarship. Evaluations will be Saturday, August 16 from 8:30-11:00 AM at MUMC. A reminder that these are not tryouts! They are a way to gauge skill level, and, after other factors (coach requests, carpooling, practice night requests), the results of evaluations may be used to balance team rosters. It is also a great way to introduce your athlete to the facility (especially if it is their first season) so they are more comfortable at the first practice.

This season, we will have divisions for 3 year olds through 8th graders. All divisions will be co-ed.

Practices will start the week of September 8. Your athlete will practice once a week on either Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday at 5:30 PM or 6:30 PM. Shin guards are required for all athletes at practices and games. Cleats are recommended but not required. We have a cleat swap shelf so at evaluations you can check for sizes or donate old cleats you are done with.

The first game will be Saturday, September 20. We will play seven games. There will not be a game on October 4 because of the craft fair. The final game and end-of-season celebration will be on November 8. All practices and games will be on the fields behind MUMC.

We will need coaches! If you are interested in coaching this fall, please email crogers@mumc.net.

Please email crogers@mumc.net if you have any questions or for more information about scholarships.
