Annual Parish Meeting: Save the Date

Sunday, February 1, 2026

following Holy Eucharist

A new class of vestry members will be elected and an update will be given on church developments. Members of the congregation should always plan to attend this important gathering.

Interim Dean and Priest-in-Charge's Note

Happy New Year, dear friends,

I pray that you are weathering the rains in Los Angeles this Christmas safe from any harm, and pray that the light of Christ brightens your days with joy and peace.

The hills in and around our city are green now, as the year begins. Buds and flowers will appear, even though it’s still winter. New life, new growth, and possibilities are underway even if it’s not perfectly clear when all will bloom.

Jesus Emmanuel, God with us, is born to us, to teach and lead us, to welcome and love us into new ways of living, and inviting us into a new family born of God.

Since before time, God is with us now – through the challenges of this past year, and with us as we will make decisions about church leadership, our church home, and the land entrusted to us. Let us together discern how God is calling us to be and live as a community of faith, in a city in need of healing, shelter and love, in a world that longs for justice and peace.

Please mark your calendars for our annual meeting on Feb 1, 2026. At this meeting, you will elect a new class of vestry members and an update will be given on church developments. But most importantly, we will give thanks to you.

Come join us, you are always welcome. St. John’s is your cathedral home.
