Journey to LA Pride

Sunday, June 14

St. John's Cathedral invites you to join our pilgrimage to LA Pride Parade this Sunday. You can always head to the Pride parade directly. At the 10am service, Dean Anne and Rev. Mel will meet those who will be leaving for the parade. All of us will be blessed by Rev. Lyn and then we’ll walk across the street to the Ortho/LATCC Metro station. We will take the Metro to the parade. Please bring your Metro TAP card or be prepared to buy one there. You need one ticket for going and one ticket for returning.

Follow Dean Anne and Rev. Mel as we take the metro to the 7th street station and go down the stairs to the "B" (Red) Line. Take it to the Hollywood and Highland exit. Walk a few blocks south on Highland (towards the sun). The diocese has been assigned staging area 112 at the intersection of Highland & Fountain Ave. We will be near the AutoZone store at 1306 Highland Ave. At about 11 am, Bishop-elect Antonio Gallardo will preside over a Holy Eucharist before the march begins.

If you do not wish to march, someone can escort you back to the train station. For those who want to march, we will accompany the bishop and the diocesan car to the end of the parade at Sunset and Cahuenga. From there, you can return to St. John's via the nearest subway station at Hollywood and Vine. The parade will end around 2-3 pm.

Bring bottled water, a hat, and sunscreen! We hope you wear your St. John's and pride outfits.

At the parade, you can text or call Rev. Mel at 626-466-2374 if you need additional guidance.
