Glennon House Closed for Summer Renovations
It is with joyful excitement and anticipation that we announce the renovation and transformation of the Glennon House will take place during the summer months.  As this is being written, the new chapel wall panels are being cut and carved by a master craftsman, the plans are being drawn for the handicapped ramp, and the furnishings are being selected.   The Glennon House will be closed during this time. Stay tuned for more news!  Please keep us in your prayers as we lovingly prepare this beautiful house for new ministry and programs.

Sunday's Music

ANTHEM STORY-O THOU SWEETEST SOURCE
The words of this Sunday’s stirring choir anthem “O Thou Sweetest Source” are inspiring enough even without Charles Wood’s lush musical line. The text glorifies God as our “highest King” and “fountain head,” a hugely loving Father and source of all joy and blessing. Wood, an Irish organist, composer, and teacher (1866-1926), wrote numerous anthems (and service music) for the Anglican church still widely performed.

“O Thou Sweetest Source” is an intricately woven, 4-part arrangement of a text by Paul Gerhardt, a famous 17 th century German Lutheran pastor and hymn writer (1607-1676). It offers a glimpse into Wood’s impressive library of sacred music, piano and organ works, songs, orchestral and chamber music. He taught at Cambridge University and the Royal College of Music in London, his list of pupils including Ralph Vaughan Williams and Herbert Howells.
