First Day of school for all students is August 26, 2020
Dear Bishop Moore Catholic families,
We cannot believe that August is here and that we are counting down until the beginning of school on August 26, 2020. Much preparation to welcome our students and faculty back safely on campus has taken place. Here are a few updates we wanted to share with you.
First, thank you so much for completing the Student Learning Form. We were so impressed that we received a completed form from every family! This has made our job in creating schedules so much easier. The majority of our students have selected to come back to campus and learn in person, and the other students will join us virtually.
Next, to aid in limiting the number of people who interact daily, we have
split our campus into an upper and lower school
. The 9th and 10th grade students, will occupy classrooms in the front of the school using Bishop Grady and Bishop Borders Halls. The 11th and 12th grade student classrooms will be in the Pines, using Loretta and Mary/Martha Halls. Electives and combined classes will be held in Bishop Dorsey Hall.
Our bell schedule, see below, has been modified to include classes 1-8 without a daily rotation. This means that first period will begin at 7:58am every day--and all other periods will remain consistent.
Every Tuesday, we will celebrate Mass for a different grade level. Each grade will attend Mass in the gym with plenty of room for social distancing. When a grade level is not attending Mass, that grade level will stay in home room and participate in
SEL (Social and Emotional Learning)
. The curriculum for this faith and academic partnership is being developed in conjunction with our VP of Mission Effectiveness, Amanda Livermore. The goal of this curriculum is to educate and form the whole child.
