COVID-19: Questions from the Community
The partnership continues between CHIME and Penn State for the global COVID-19 survey. We have received over 12,000 responses and continue to gather information and share the survey across the country and around the globe.  Medicare Telehealth Policies: On Thursday Medicare announced additional telehealth billing flexibilities allowed under Medicare for providers to deliver telehealth and distanced services to patients in response to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. See our updated cheat sheet for key provisions.

Interoperability Rules: On Friday, official versions of two final rules on information blocking and interoperability from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), as well as a proposed rule outlining the civil monetary penalties for information blocking, were published. Privacy and Cybersecurity: Concerns are mounting around increased cyber threats to health systems as bad actors capitalize on the pandemic. The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) released COVID-19 Email Phishing Against US Healthcare Providers and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) issued a threat brief on COVID-19 cyber threats .
