My name is Lauren Muse. I will be teaching Math 1 and Math 3 for our LLCA High School. I'm from Byron, GA, which is in the center of the state. I attended Georgia Southern University where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in mathematics. I taught high school math for a year in Screven County, GA near my college town. Then, I got engaged and moved to Clemson, SC where I married my husband, Beck, in October and taught high school math for another year. I just finished my Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Kennesaw State University, and I am excited to use this knowledge in my classroom more and more each year. My husband and I are both at Camp Lurecrest each summer working with the summer staff and the campers that attend each week. I am super excited to be a Raptor!

My name is Jason Hutchins. I will be teaching 6th Grade ELA and 8th Grade Social Studies. I was born and raised in Rutherfordton, NC and my mom is a school teacher. I attended Trinity School, R-S Central High School, and the NC Governor's School before departing for Chapel Hill in 1995. At UNC, I studied creative writing with Doris Betts and Sarah Dessen, which allowed me to grow and develop as a writer. After graduation from UNC, I continued to study creative writing by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UNC-Wilmington and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Queens University of Charlotte. As a lifelong learner, I completed courses in biology and chemistry while employed at UNC-Asheville.
Professionally, I have worn many hats over the years. During the past twenty years, I have served as a police officer, probation/parole officer, campus police officer, instructor, and tutor. I have spent the majority of my life in the educational system. From summer days spent helping my mom set up her classroom, to late nights in the library, and teaching my own students, I understand the importance of education. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I'm looking forward to teaching at Lake Lure Classical Academy.

Hi! My name is Mr. Neal and I am the 6th and 7th grade Social Studies teacher. This is my first-year
teaching at Lake Lure Classical Academy, and I am very excited to be here. I moved to Lake Lure with my family after living in Hawaii for the past 20 years. I moved here with my wife and two children, who are elementary students at LLCA. I previously worked as an army instructor, teaching leadership and specialty skills to soldiers around the Pacific area. I retired from the Army in 2021 after 23 years of service. I have a BA in management and a certificate in emergency management from the American Military University (AMU). I put the emergency management cert to work sometimes, as I volunteer with the Lake Lure Fire Department. I was previously enrolled in a teacher education program at Brevard College, and currently perusing a Master's in Education/ Teaching from AMU. When I am not learning and studying different aspects of history or in a classroom, I love spending time hiking, camping, and being on the lake. I like to incorporate a lot of experiences and interactivity in my teaching style. I also like to see my students collaborate with each other, learning from their own unique experiences. It's going to be an amazing school year, and I am very excited to be a part of it!!
