Weekly Update October 10, 2018

We're BACK! We've made the transition to 712 Plantation Street and like most transitions it was a lot of work. We've still a bit of unpacking to do so if you visit the new center in the next week or so we'll have to ask that you pardon our appearance as we feather our new nest.  It's an exciting time for us and HMEA as we look to the future.

We've been receiving calls from people anxious to enroll in HMEA'S  new center based ABA program. We are not doing intake for HMEA's Childrens Center for ABA, if interested please contact Jan Bolton at jbolton@hmea.org

We had our first visitors to the Center last night when Mass Advocates Standing Strong met in our training rooms. Tonight we will have a support group for parents of children and tweens on the spectrum, join us and have a look at our new digs !

You can also visit the new Center on October 24 where Gayle Green will be holding IEP clinics and has openings at 11AM 12PM 1PM and 2PM

Elsewhere, Elaine Rabbitt will be doing IEP consultations on October 30 in Southbridge at the Library  and has openings at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30AM, 12:30, 1:30 PM
Call Donmarie at 508-298-1609 to book your consultation.

A reminder to  those who have children under age nine, that the open request application period for the Autism Waiver is one week away beginning next Wednesday on the 17th and will run through the 31st. Please note that applications received before the opening date will be discarded. Click here for more information.

For parents who've teens and young adults transitioning Commissioner Jane Ryder will be at the Beechwood Hotel in November for a town hall meeting on turning 22. We all know how stressful this transition can be so come and share ideas how this process can be improved! Be part of the solution. scroll down for all the details.  Also the Costume Ball for Teens & Young Adults and Siblings will take place on October 19th, we need a head count for the Manor next week so be sure to register for this popular night out! Parents enjoy an evening socializing while the young folk party.

Can't wait to see you all in our new home ! Have a great week
