Easter Continues—In Us, Around Us, Through Us:

A Note from Pastor Jenn

Dear St. Lukers,

What a beautiful Holy Week and Easter we experienced together! From the powerful journey through the Prayer Labyrinth to the moving worship services of Good Friday and Easter morning, we were able to serve thousands in our community with the good news of what it means to be found and be loved by the grace of Jesus.

We want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to the more than 200 volunteers who helped make it all possible. Your time, creativity, hospitality, and spirit helped create sacred spaces where lives were touched and hope was renewed. We are so grateful for each of you.

This week, we celebrate Easter…again! The story doesn’t end at the empty tomb. Resurrection is just the beginning.

This Sunday (April 27), we begin a brand-new sermon series called...

St. Luke's Week in Review

Welcome Susan Kocarek as our Director of Church Communications!

We’re excited to welcome Susan Kocarek to the St. Luke’s staff as our new Director of Church Communications! Susan brings more than a decade of professional communications experience, having worked for the largest child advocacy organization in Florida. She is also a proud 25+ year volunteer with Orange County Public Schools and a graduate of the Leadership Orange program. Susan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from George Mason University in Virginia.

Susan and her husband, Keith, have been faithful members of St. Luke’s for over 25 years. Their four (now grown) children all attended St. Luke’s CDC, and the family recently celebrated the arrival of their first grandchild in March! Over the years, Susan has been a dedicated volunteer at St. Luke’s, serving as a Sunday School teacher, VBS volunteer, Care Team card writer, and currently helps in the tech booth running ProPresenter during worship services.

In her spare time, Susan loves cheering on the Florida Gators and is a passionate Orlando City Soccer fan—Vamos Orlando!

We’re grateful to have Susan’s talents and heart on the team as she helps tell the story of St. Luke’s in meaningful and creative ways.

Welcome Sara Becker as our new Guest Experience Coordinator!

We are thrilled to welcome Sara Becker to the St. Luke’s staff as our new Guest Experience Coordinator! Sara and her family relocated to Orlando in June 2023 from northern Virginia, where she served families as a school social worker. They quickly found a home at St. Luke’s and became active in our community.

Sara brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having served as a social worker, therapist, educator, and even a Soldier. In addition to her work at St. Luke’s, she continues to support families and individuals in the community as a part-time psychotherapist. She holds a Master of Social Work from Boston University and a Bachelor's in History Education from the University of South Dakota—where she also met her husband, Nathan.

Together, Sara and Nathan are raising three wonderful children—Emmett, Alex, and Juliette—alongside their three lively pups: Donut, Honey, and Buddy. When she’s not cheering on her kids at activities, Sara enjoys camping, beach days, and exploring the many amusement and nature parks Florida has to offer.

Sara is excited to meet you and looks forward to helping create a warm and welcoming experience for all who walk through the doors of St. Luke’s!

A Beautiful, Grace-Filled Week at St. Luke’s

From waving palms to gathering at the table, experiencing the quiet of the Prayer Labyrinth to the depth of Good Friday, and celebrating the joy of Easter morning—serving thousands with the good news of love and what it means to be found.

To the 200+ volunteers who gave their time and hearts: THANK U. You helped create sacred spaces where lives were touched and hope came to life.
