We’re off into this new year… students have returned to classrooms, routines have settled back into place, and many of us have found ourselves re-learning old rhythms after the holidays. In so many ways, January is a season of learning again: how to focus, how to listen, how to grow.
That makes this week’s focus especially fitting: LEARN.
Learning has always been close to my heart, not just because of my calling as a pastor, but because it runs deep in our family. My wife, Carol, spent 14 years in the classroom shaping middle-school minds and hearts, and she now continues that work through her work with Junior Achievement, strengthening and supporting our school systems. My mom and my mother-in-law are both retired elementary school teachers. Across generations, I’ve watched learning happen not only through textbooks and lesson plans, but through patience, repetition, encouragement, and love.
And that’s exactly the kind of learning Scripture invites us into.
This year, my star word is “know.” Not know as in information alone, but know as Scripture understands it: relational, formative, lived. To know God is not simply to know facts about God; it is to live inside God’s story. It’s to allow God’s Word to shape how we think, love, decide, and act.
This Sunday, we’ll explore...

The tables were full, the pasta was flowing, and the room was buzzing with conversation as more than 200 people gathered for our free pasta dinner last week!
What started as a simple meal turned into a night of connection, laughter, and lingering conversations. As dinner wrapped up, the evening kept going, with more than 40 kids heading to the Treehouse and over 60 middle schoolers sticking around for youth group as we kicked off Wednesday Nights at St. Luke's. It was a wonderful night of community, shared joy, and being together.
There’s still time to jump into an adult class - visit st.lukes.org/adults to see a full list of offerings!

| Thank U, St. Luke's Arts Ministry Team! | |
On a beautiful, cool January evening under the stars and around glowing campfires, more than 200 members of the St. Luke’s community gathered to celebrate the heart of our Arts Ministry and the volunteers who make it possible.
The night was dedicated to thanking our arts volunteers and leaders who serve week after week through music, theatre, tech, design, and creative storytelling. Together we celebrated how Arts at St. Luke’s is not superfluous or performative, but theology lived out in the public square, telling the story of God through hands, voices, bodies, imagination, and community.
Volunteers were honored for the many ways they serve, from early morning worship leadership and long rehearsal nights to building sets, running sound and lights, mentoring children, and sharing life together in creative community. Our Arts Ministry directors offered gratitude for the faithfulness, skill, humility, and heart of those who help shape worship and storytelling at St. Luke’s.
The evening was full of joy and fellowship with hot dogs, hamburgers, s’mores (with help from our Boy Scouts), bounce houses for kids, stilt walkers, and music provided by Mr. Richard and Michael Mastroianni. There was singing, dancing, kazoo playing, laughter, and time simply being together as one community.
It was a night of gratitude, celebration, and shared light, a reminder that through art, service, and creativity, our volunteers help create the church itself.

| A Morning Filled with Praise | |
We want to thank the incredible Bethune-Cookman University Concert Chorale for sharing their gifts with us during worship last Sunday! This talented group of students filled our Sanctuary with a powerful and moving musical offering, lifting songs deeply rooted in Scripture that proclaimed faith, hope, and God’s enduring love.
We are truly blessed by the inspiration they shared with our St. Luke’s community, and can’t wait to welcome them back again in the future!
