A Note from Pastor Jad - January 16, 2025
Grace and Peace Beloved St. Luke’s Family,
It’s hard to believe that we are three weeks into 2025. Is anyone else still forgetting and writing 2024? Just me? With a new year comes new opportunities. Various studies and classes started last week, and people are journeying and growing together in their faith and service to others. And this past weekend was full of excitement and connection! Our Men’s Ministry kicked off 2025 at Miller’s Ale House, and it was a fantastic time. Seeing so many men gathered for fellowship, laughter, and meaningful conversations was a joy. If you missed it, don’t worry—there will be plenty more opportunities to get involved as we continue to grow this ministry. You can register for our first monthly Men’s Ministry breakfast event of the year (Thursday, February 20) by clicking here!
Our new Women’s Ministry also hosted a kick-off open house earlier this week, and all reports are that it was a wonderful time of connection, inspiration, and planning for all the incredible opportunities coming up in 2025. Stay tuned for more ways to get involved, or reach out to Liz Vasquez for more information.
Looking ahead: We are excited to have the Bethune-Cookman University Concert Chorale in concert on Sunday (January 19) at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary! This extraordinary choir is renowned for their talent, energy, and soul-stirring performances. Their harmonies will...

St. Luke's Week in Review
Start Your Thursdays with Connection and Conversation
Looking for a place to connect, reflect, and grow in faith? The Thursday Morning Men’s Group invites all men to join us virtually each week from 7:45 to 9:00 a.m. for meaningful conversations, supportive community, and prayer.
We’re excited to have recently started a thought-provoking journey together reading and discussing Rabbi Jonathan Sacks’ powerful book, Not in God’s Name. This inspiring work tackles challenging questions about religion, violence, and reconciliation, offering profound insights into how we can live out faith in a divided world.
Whether you're seeking a spiritual recharge, a space to share openly, or a chance to connect with other men who value faith and fellowship, this group is for you. All men are welcome—come as you are and bring a friend! Click here to register and receive the Zoom link, and we will see you there!

Thank U, Grow Ministry Leaders!
Last week, we had the joy of celebrating our amazing leaders from Children’s, Youth, and Adult Ministries! The evening was filled with laughter, games, and meaningful fellowship, all in honor of the incredible volunteers who pour their hearts into our ministries.
To all our volunteers: thank you. You make an eternal difference in the lives of those you serve, and we are so grateful for you!

Recently, a former church member reached out to our Hearts to Hands Ministry with a heartfelt request: could we send a prayer shawl to a friend of hers battling a serious illness? She’d seen firsthand how these shawls bring comfort and care and knew her friend could use that reminder of love and prayer.
The answer? Of course! That’s what Hearts to Hands is all about—sharing prayer, comfort, and care through handmade shawls, blankets, and afghans. Whether it’s for someone in our congregation or a friend across miles, these gifts carry the love and prayers of our St. Luke’s family.
If you know someone who could use this kind of comfort, contact the Care Office at 407-876-4991 ext. 262, and we’ll work with you to ensure they receive this tangible symbol of God’s love.
